Re: Mac & Gemini 2 connection

For the record, I am currently using a Gemini II L6 with my MacBook Pro and a standard network?cable and it works perfectly. No crossover needed for Macs and it's been that way for many years.

Hi Tony,
?
We know the Ethernet port is working fine because we used GFU to install the newer L6.1 and v1.6.3 HC code and I showed you the web UI with voltage, Network settings mount type etc.??
?
We probably should have connected your Gemini 2 and MacBook to a router when you were here. Sorry for forgetting that!?
?
The other options you have are to be sure your MacBook is set to the same network as the Gemini-2 was set to.? Remember, I used a static IP for the Gemini-2 for a typical private network 192.168.0.xx this means the netmask is 255.255.255.0.? Your MacBook needs to be set to the same network and use the same mask to ensure it works AND the adapter would need to reliably auto negotiate the Ethernet port pin function on top of the usual duplex and speed.??
?
I know people say it works but I have never seen a Gemini 2 with a direct port to port cable connection without using a crossover cable or crossover adapter.? This is another thing I should have thought to try, I have crossover cables and adapters on my desk, DOH!?
?
?If you can connect your MacBook to a router at home using Ethernet and then connect the Gemini-2 to the same router and the networks are set to the same network range it should work as long as that USB C to Ethernet adapter is configured correctly.??
?
Keep us posted.?
