Re: New computer ethernet woes

yeah that seems to be an issue for saving. for a direct IP connect i'm not sure the gateway is critical, so you can try changing it to something else, or the ip address of the gemini

+1 to Art and David! It¡¯s prob not allowing you to save b/c it duplicates the (incorrect) gateway address.

Your gateway should not be the same IP.
GW is probably 192.168.1.1

Ping it to verify. Open a cmd window and type ping -t 192.168.1.1 to see if you get a response?

Hi Mike

This is a Windows 11 quirk. It's definitely possible to save it, although I forget the exact details. You'll want to hunt this down as a Windows 11 thing (google may give you some good leads here). i'm not in front of a computer right now

Thanks?Brian, I was unaware of that particular video.? I followed all your instructions and ran into a snag when? I tried to configure the ethernet side on my Windows 11 computer. It doesnt look quite the same as your example, but pretty close. However, when I enter all the parameters the screen wont let me save it. I have tried it with and without the DNS server information. Here is what I get:

Hi Mike

what instructions did you follow?

The details depend on how you are connecting:

if you are doing a direct ethernet connection there's a tutorial here:

if you are going via router, there's a tutorial (longer discussion, but it explains it) here:?

Hi
? ? ?I used the ethernet connection from my old Dell Win10 machine with no problem. I followed theGemini II setup instructions and it worked great. I now have a new Lenovo Win 11 laptop and I cannot get the Ethernet connection to work. I tried using gemini and also the HTTP address, and can't make a connection. I was wondering if anyone could give me some setup / testing ideas to figure out what my problem is, or a reasonable alternative (not involving Wi-Fi) to use.?
? ?Thanks
