Re: Meridian Flip

Hola Felipe,

Well what I am talking about is a complete different think as what you are asking.

You want to have an automatic meridian flip which could be invoked at a certain altitude angle which I guess is not very dificult but you still have the uncertainty if the object is in the center of your camera or not and that can only be solved with a so called Plate solve using the existing software packages.

I am talking about the fact that Gemini I does not know to which object it did GoTO after invoking the meridian. At least not using GCC

Hi Rainer .. thank you for raising the issue "Meridian flip" because I did a
question in the forum and have not had any response .

I will think about it much to buy the new Gemini II if the topic is not
resolved or explained in the User Manual ... ..

Hi,

Sure you are right. That is a mistake we all do thinking that everybody has
or uses the same as we do :-)

I brought this up here so maybe it can be changed.

I brought this issue up a few years ago in the Gemini I Yahoo group and it
fell onto unfruitfull soil :-) Now yesterday as I was doing some additional
alignments as well as meridian flips it came to my mind again.

Nothing happened and maybe because Ren¨¦ was occupied with some important
stuff when >I posted that long time ago. It looks like I am always a few
steps ahead so I will slow down ... :-)

Sorry to bring up what I experience ... :-)

regards Rainer

Hi Rainer
PS
you might want to tell them up front that you do not use any ASCOM based
program or theSky6 or TheSkyX. That way you will not get replies such
as Floyd's because they will have this information up front.

Good day
