Re: Rebuild CDV715 and CDV717
good answer be aware however that if the circuit check shows good the detector section can be completely removed from the unit and it will still show good all that means they're stiff the circuitry

Re: Rebuild CDV715 and CDV717
Geo, I think it¡¯s dead because nothing happens when I try the circuit check, but to be honest I haven¡¯t yet made any voltage tests. Thanks, Clint

Re: Rebuild CDV715 and CDV717
I¡¯m familiar with Shane Connor¡¯s calibration service at KI4U. I bought my ENI from him. ?If I sent the 717 to him he may repair it, but I was looking into options for getting it ¡°undead¡±

Re: Rebuild CDV715 and CDV717
The 700 is pretty easy to test and get material to calibrate after a rebuild. The 715 and 717 not so much. The electometer circuits are very touchy and the calibration requires a very strong source

Rebuild CDV715 and CDV717
George, I have a dead CDV-717. I see rebuild services and rebuild kits for the CDV-700 but no service or kit for the CDV715 or CDV717. Do you know of any or is this an untapped market? Clint

Re: Source for 6993 Geiger-Muller tubes
Watch out for those fraud sites. I've seen my eBay offering on them!!!Best bet is replace it with LND clone tube. However, simply converting the '700 to a BNC connector will allow any probe to be

How to use the Red Caps
All protective caps used on AMPTEK and similar solid state sensors MUST be ventilated. An unventilated cap tends to draw a vacuum if removed quickly, putting stress on the sensor's thin beryllium

Hi MTC. This one is designed to go from the regular probe jack (RED WIRE= 900 V input) to a different jack for the 440V probe (ORANGE WIRE) yes the loop goes to ground (same ground for both
