Hi to the group,
Well I was shocked and flabbergasted the hear the comments of John Flannigan regarding his comments about DX Kits buisness of which I might add he knows nothing about and it does not concern him.
He also goes on stating things that are totally untrue and I believe defamatory, obscene language is not welcome on this site and within the group and Ham fraternity as a whole.
Andy is very much upset and taken aback at his statements which are totally untrue.Andy;s reply is a correct account of what the facts truly are
I know the group will agree Andys only concern is to help every one to enjoy The Multiband and dx kits projects,He alone has done his best to further our hobby so we can enjoy it
We do not need a plant pot screwball like John Lannigan who does not know what he is talking abot to be throwing spanners in the works where? they are not wanted, certainly not in our fraternity
It is not an easy task as you know designing new projects which will be coming to fruition in the near future with these stupid? idiots such crying wolf and stiring it up for attention which they shoud not get away with, that is why I have had to put my oar in on Andys side
I believe fellow group members and those who know him will back him 100% what ever he decides to do for the good of the group will be ok with us.
So keep up the good work Andy We are with you all the way

John
What can I say to your rant which is fully unjustified.
Let me straighten a few facts and also remind you of a few as it appears you have had a memory lapse of some description.
QUOTE:
"Andy, im a little disapointed with you..! Quite a while back, myself andanother friend were prepared to help you re-design a couple of projects, yousaid where copyright with your business partner we were ready and waiting"
First of all the only person who has any rights to my work is myself and anyone I have given exclusive permission to (that does not include you by the way). Adrian Lane who was involved in the early days of DXKITS had no copyright or other claim to any of my work and I am sure he will confirm this without question.
Second point...
QUOTE 2:
"You did nothing but mess us around, and then remove both of us from Skype..!"
Quite the opposite, first of all you were going to help me with a new VFO with the help of a friend of yours, the VFO was to be a better an alternative to the one I already had available, indeed you boasted to me about your friend who was an excellent programmer and had time on his hands to develop the software as he was at home looking after his wife. Let me remind you that you furnished me with examples of your friends works via your forum and I was impressed by what I saw. ?I was interested to follow the development of the work your friend was doing and on your recommendation I purchased displays and modules to do this but to this day they are still gathering dust as I never heared from you nor kept in the loop of any progress and after many months of no contact whatsoever I chose to remove you from Skype as I felt you were taking the PISS and full of false promises. ?You may remember that I also sent you various items for your project as a means of goodwill. So as YOU can see John it is more the case that you have messed me around!
Oh by the way can you enlighten me as to what the second project is that you were going to help re-design as I have no recollection of this.
?
QUOTE 3:
"When you closed down the website, i looked a few times and it wasavailable, but you didnt renew it, meanwhile your ex partner DID renew it, yourfault, and YOUR problem"
First of all the domain has absolutely nothing to do with you and your comments are not welcome. Further more your aggressive stance is unacceptable, besides my ex partner Adrian Lane did not own the domain or renew it as it was in my name. The domain was set to auto-renew which failed end of story.
QUOTE 4:
"You like to portray to portray yourself as the 'injured duck' but infact, you have in fact created this situation your self, all on your own."
I think you will find QUOTE 3 covers this.
QUOTE 5:
"We offered you help, with NO financial demands, just a true ham spirit, but you abused that, basically taking the PISS...!"
To put it simply I have in no way abused you or your friend and it would be impossible for me take take the PISS when you failed to get back to me or live up-to your own promises, thanks to your false promises I am indeed out of pocket having never received any help, information or development code which I would have given valuable input to. How you can say I have abused you defies belief, I waited months for an email or Skype call and received nothing yet you have the brass neck to accuse me of taking the piss!
John you have achieved nothing with your post apart from making a fool of yourself and hopefully on reflection you will realize that as your message certainly was not made in the spirit of ham radio but maybe fuelled by a different spirit!
The matter is now closed and any further posts will be deleted.

Hi Ken
I am still battling with Hostgator but as things stand they will not waver the redemption fee even though they admit there auto renewal system failed me. ?As a last resort I have asked for a discount but I don't hold much hope in that happening especially seen as I have not had a response back from them.
The Irwell project continues to progress all be it very slowly. Over the weekend I put some parts on the xtal filter prototype PCB's I had made, no xtals on them yet but I wanted to test the switching between the filter types and also the switching from RX to TX, all went well so I now have to match more xtals which I hope to do this week.
The receive section is almost complete and I intend to produce a board for this from the modules I have completed and tested, this will then permit the build of a multi-mode communications receiver, the transmit board will be a separate unit that will interface with the receive module to create the transceiver.
Once I have populated the filter boards with xtals I will post some pictures along with filter plots.
Regards for now.

Hi Ken
Great to hear from you and I hope you are keeping well.
Unfortunately I can not move the domain as technically I no longer own it the hosting company Hostgator do.
The redemption period (theft period) allows Hostgator (launchpad) to take ownership of the domain for a period of something like 45 days and during that period they will release it back to me for $75 dollars.
So that Is the situation Ken.

: dxkits.com expired?
2
Hi
With regards to the domain DXKits.com
The domain is currently in a redemption period and through no fault of my own.
To say I am fuming with the hosting company is an understatement, I had the domain set to automatic renewal in the hosting control panel and this process failed to work, as soon as I became aware that the domain was showing as expired I manually paid the due fee and thought all was now good and the issue resolved.
WRONG... The domain did not get renewed and I was even issued with a second invoice to pay the same fee's again!
Now the hosting company want a further $75 dollars to bring the domain out of redemption as well as the renewal fee I have already paid.
I have gone to a lot of expense to keep the DXKits website alive and have continued to pay the monthly hosting costs for some time but the domain renewal issue has been a step to far and an expense I can not justify or meet.
The Hosting company HOSTGATOR are apologetic that there systems failed to renew my domain but they will not waver the $75 dollar redemption fee.?
HOSTGATOR you suck

dxkits.com expired?
I note that the domain expired back at the end of february and is now in its redemption period, which means that soon its records will be deleted and the domain name will be up for sale again. If dxkits.com is going to be abandoned entirely, perhaps the contact email address for kits on the main page of this group could be updated?

?YES you can use sbl-1 if you have them,? instead of again investing on ADE-1.

: Filter
Hi Matjaz
The value of capacitors for CS and CP will depend on the parameters of the xtals that you are using.
Have you matched a set of xtals for the filter ?
The input and output impedance for the filter should be close to 200 ohms.
There are many documents on the internet which cover matching xtals and building filters, you could start by googling G3UUR who developed a very simple method of matching xtals for building filters.

Hi dear Om Addy...Thanks for replay... now with the MK1,Im' able to receive stations in 15m band and 10 m band with excellent sound quality...and to improve the TX performance in 15m and 10m bands, I've replaced that Q10 and Q11 with C1906 RF Transistor..The result was positive..!!

Hi Reji
The MK1 exciter board was
somewhat experimental and had a few issues so I never
developed it any further or offered any boards or kits.
I addressed all issues with
the MK1 with my MK2 project so you could take a look at the
documentation for that and see if you can modify and upgrade
your MK1.
One of the
problems I experienced with the MK1 is poor bandwidth in the
transmit strip especially on the higher bands so that is
prob why you have problems with 21Mhz and 28Mhz but it could
be an issue with the bandpass filter.
Good luck with your project.

Andy de G6LBQ.

MK2 Exciter PCB Artwork
Hi All
I have posted a PDF file of the MK2 Exciter PCB and also a PCB CAD image which should assist with producing your own PCB from the artwork.
The files are located in my G6LBQ folder under /Multiband/SSB/Exciter and are named as follows:
MK2_Exciter_PCB_165mm_by_103mm.pdf
MK2_Exciter_CAD_Image.PNG
The PCB artwork is 2 layer with the top layer being used mainly as a ground plane but there are some tracks on the top layer which you need to be aware of, refer to the the PCB artwork and also the CAD image which shows the top layer tracks as blue in colour.? It is possible to leave all of the top layer as a ground plane and use wire links to replace the top tracks, this makes homebrewing a PCB easier but remember to isolate the drill holes for wire links from the top groundplane!
The PCB artwork file should print to size and is the correct orientation for the toner transfer method.
The PCB size is 165mm by 103mm.
If you have difficulty locating certain parts for the build or are unable to match xtals for the main IF filter send me an email direct with your requirements.
PLEASE NOTE The PCB artwork is supplied for personal use only and not commercial gain!
Hope to see news of some new builds now the PCB artwork has been made available.
Regards
Andy de G6LBQ
