Re: Other PCB's to be made available for pre-order.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hi Andy,

Have added myself for 2 exciters. I noticed on the databases pages that although I clicked on the second database for exciters the headings refer to band pass filters, likely a cut n paste error I presume.

As to the low pass filter PCB's I would prefer the dual purpose board. Well perhaps one of each.

I would also like a couple of PA boards if they are available.

Many thanks for picking this up again. Very much appreciated.

Hi Everyone

Just a quick note to let you all know that I will be adding more databases soon so you can register your interest to pre-order Low-Pass Filter PCB's and HF Linear Amplifier PCB's.

When I originally designed the MK2 Low-Pass Filter module I wanted it to be universal so I created a PCB that could be populated with component options that rated it for low power use 10-20 Watts, or high power use 100 Watts plus. ?I am going to re-design the low-pass filter PCB for 10-20 Watt rating only, this will allow me to reduce the PCB size, use smaller relays and reduce the overall build cost. The new Low-Pass filter will become the MK3 and will also be used in the Irwell transceiver project currently under development.

I do have a small quantity of the MK3 HF Linear Amplifier PCB's in stock, this amplifier was developed to interface with the MK2 Exciter and take care of all the RF switching paths but is also a great universal HF Linear Amp for use with other projects including the Irwell Transceiver that is under development.

Stay tuned for more information and announcements!

Boards and stuff.

Hi Andy,
? ? ? ? ? ? ? If you have a PA board in stock I will take one if it is available. Also I am making my own board but would not mind having an Exciter PCB as well. I will add my name to the database.

Thanks Ian ?K3HQL

Re: MK2 BandPass Filter PCB - Pre Order

Hi Everyone

The database for MK2 BPF PCB pre-order has gone better than I anticipated so thanks to those who have made use of the database and registered their interest.

I now need to get a price for having the boards manufactured and will do that very soon then contact all members via email with price confirmation.

Kind regards

G6LBQ MK2 Exciter PCB - Pre Order

Hi Everyone

The database for pre-order of the G6LBQ MK2 Band-Pass Filter PCB has proven to be a success so I have now created a further database for registering interest to pre-order the Mk2 Exciter PCB

The database list is accessible to all members of the group so you can keep an eye on the level of interest registered.

I will need a minimum of 10 confirmed orders for PCB¡¯s before I can place a manufacturing order.

All members who have registered there interest on the database will be contacted by email once there is sufficient interest to consider placing a manufacturing order for the PCB¡¯s. In the email, I will confirm the PCB cost, shipping costs and you will have the opportunity to confirm your order.

Please note that any member you registers there interest on the database can remove themselves from the list should they wish to do so.

Access to the Group Databases is via the feature list on the left hand side of your screen between the files section and Wiki section.

Once you are in the Databases section you will see the heading Request for G6LBQ MK2 BandPass Filter PCB?? click on this to view the database.

If you want to add yourself to the database and register your interest just click the green button that says ¡°+Add Row¡±

Next fill in the two required fields and finish off by clicking the blue button that says ¡°+Save Row¡±

I have added myself to the database so you get an idea of how it appears.

Re: MK2 BandPass Filter PCB - Pre Order

Hi Andy,

Very happy to know that the MK2 BPF PCB will be available soon.

I have already left my name on the database.

But I'm also interested in the full set of the MK2 PCBs, including the SSB exciter.

Will they be also available?

Great stuff Andy, very encouraging. Already added for 2 boards.

Now, a full set of boards would really get me busy. How about the rest of them? :)

Sorry to report that I do not have any MK2 BPF PCB's at this time.

If there are enough requests for the MK2 BPF PCB I will order another batch but regret it is not feasible to order just one PCB.

It would be possible to order just three PCB's from Oshpark but the cost may be prohibitive.

Hi PauloThe MK1
multi-band exciter was somewhat experimental so I never made
it available as a kit. The PCB artwork for the MK1 was made
freely available and some boards were manufactured and
offered for sale but not by myself. Whilst the MK1
functioned it was not perfect for Multi-band operation so
the MK2 was developed and improvements made.
The MK1 transmit amplifier stages were
replicated from the classic BitX design but found not to be
ideal for multi-band use. The final RF output from the
exciter varied way to much across the bands and produced
reduced power on the higher HF bands. I addressed this in
the MK2 by increasing the bandwidth of the transmit stages
and adding an additional stage of amplification to raise the
exciter transmit output to around 350mw on all
bands.
The xtal filter matching on
the MK1 was not ideal especially on the MC1350 IF chip side.
On the MK2 I made changes to the xtal filter with better
impedance matching and improved filter bandwidth. The shape
and bandwidth of the xtal filter was improved by increasing
the number of xtals used in the filter to six.On the
MK1 the AGC proved difficult to tame in some builds so this
was improved in the MK2 and easier to setup. The MK2
has the addition of a front panel mount IF gain
control.The MK2 has an improved microphone pre-amp
stage with additional audio filtering. The MK1 used a
common oscillator stage for both the USB and LSB carrier
oscillators where as the MK2 has individual circuits for
each oscillator. There were some other small changes
made in the MK2 but I have listed the main
differences. After the development of the MK2
multi-band exciter I re-designed the MK1 BPF from scratch
and revised the MK1 lowpass filter module.MK1
transceivers have been built and are in use around the world
so do not be discouraged from building the MK1 if you have
the boards. It is possible to include some of the MK2
upgrades into the MK1 for improvement. If you decide
to build the MK1 please share your progress with the group
and if you have any further questions just ask!

BITx VERSIONS

Hi Andy,

I'm a little (to tell the truth, a lot) confused about the BitX versions.

I recentely bought in eBay a set of pcb bare boards labeled MKI.

What are the differences between the MKI and MKII versions.

Are the set of boards completely different?

Where can I found the specific files for this versions?
