I did the AE3OW-mod today (but with a 2 mm hole). Works great!
PS:? if you want to open the mic-enclosure you need a Torx nr 6 (T-6) srewdriver.
Inside the mic normal (#1 ?) phillips screws are used to hold the pcb -on which the electret is mounted- in place.
