I am not sure what is happening to me. I had a super stressful job and I took care of my mom in her last days. She passed last July. My annual physical has always showed me with low WBC.4.0 is the minimum and at best I show 3.5. It has been dwindling. Now it is at 2.6.
My doctor is super concerned.
I have not been eating well, due to my mom and then the stress of the job and making dinner to my widowed dad. I also don’t sleep so I have been on diazapem and benedryle( fo allergy).
I read that long term use would lower WBC but my pcp discounted that.
I also had an episode of arthritis that requires steroid pack and antibiotics. Suspect that would lower the WBC.
Any herbal or supplements that you can recommend so I can bring the level up?
Side note, my last job requires quit a bit of travel and meetings. While people around me caught Covid, I have never been afflicted. Yes, I have 2 shots of the vaccine by Pfizer.
Thanks in advance.
Julie

Julie,
?
I've been told it's common for long term caregivers to physically collapse after the loved one they've been caring for passes. I suffered a stroke three months after my wife passed after a 4 1/2 year battle with BC.?
?
When my wife (HER2pos - mBC) was in a clinical trial for Ibrance her wbc would drop below 1.0. I found a product, Monolaurin, that would keep her wbc up. It's made by Inspired Nutrition, Stayton, OR. If you try this make sure to start gradually per instructions on the container to avoid the Herxheimer reaction. It's a natural derivative from coconut and isn't contraindicated for use with other medications.? ?
?
I use Turmeric Forte from MediHerb for arthritis. One or two per day has worked wonders for me!
?
Sure hope these help!
?
John

I used to take benzos for sleep.? I don't know how long you were on them, but I had to back off very slowly.? When I tried to quit all at once, I felt like I was going to die.? I had my doctor prescribe progressively lower doses until I could stop.? If you google benzo withdrawal, there is a lot of info.? Not everyone has the same reaction, but I certainly had to take it slow.
