Re: Budwig Diet - Supplements or no Supplements.

Malcolm

Dear Grace,
Thank you so much for your helpful reply. Sorry for the delay but I only just became aware of it. I am so glad about your recovery and I will give up those supplements.? If they are so effective, they will have done considerable good in the past fortnight anyway. I can always return to them if needed. I take vitamin D3 daily, usually 3000IU, sometimes 4000 with K2. My family think I then overdo it, 4000 being the maximum our NHS website advises. I will ask about elderberry and zinc. I (and my good wife) have been overwhelmed with it all (masses of info and diets) but are getting there, things fitting into a pattern. Lots of natural, organic food and CC/FO with berries/nuts daily, no processed.

My I please ask you another very minor question? Do you still use any cow's milk in your diet? As recommended, I have given up sugar (using Xylitol) and all dairy foods (I greatly miss my yogurt, cream, butter, cakes, biscuits, trifles, custards, etc.) but like milk in my tea and coffee, rather than plant-based. In one BP recipe I read or watched (using the CC/FO combination) I recall a suggestion to add more milk to thin it down if too thick? That makes me think a little daily milk is acceptable. It is hard to know how strict to be.

Fighting stress is hard. I have recently started on anti-depressants after a 2 year battle without, and Diazapam temporarily to combat high anxiety/panic attacks. My hip is now suddenly very bad and painful, unable to walk far, so the recommended exercise is difficult. My wife has PD which is very challenging (slow, but copes marvellously) so, being a Christian, and lean heavily on my Faith. I do a LOT of praying and reading my Bible daily. Thank you again and God Bless.
Malcolm

Re: Cashew

Julie,
The only nuts I've noticed being not recommended are macadamias and peanuts.? I hope someone will set this straight if I am wrong.

I found a few vegan cream soup recipes using cashew nuts.
can someone please tell me if that¡¯s allowed? I am only aware of walnuts and Brazil nuts being mentioned in the protocol.

thanks.

Dear Malcolm,
I don¡¯t post often, I am 12 years out from a terminal prognosis of lymphoma. I find that the fewer supplements the better, as this protocol is so nutrient dense! I do take D3 2000mg daily as well as a elderberry and zinc chewable. That¡¯s it and my recent blood work show I am doing so well on all markers. Don¡¯t get overwhelmed, just eat right, get some sun and Vita D3 if needed, and reduce stress. Pray if you are so inclined with gratitude ?? Sending blessings your way.

On that basis, I bought 60 - 500mg Beta-1,3D Glucan tablets (he says are far superior to other makes) and I started taking the recommended 3 tablets/day (for my 150 pounds weight) 30 mins before eating breakfast. That will cost about ?105/mth (US$140) until I reduce. Not cheap, along with all the other increased costs. Have just ordered more, not to run out, so will probably continue until my next PSA test in 3 months.

Yet, in File No. 5, it states "Dr. Budwig did not include drugs or supplements in her protocol guidelines. In her 1999 book, she spoke against them. She warned that high amounts of man-made supplemental antioxidants can interfere with the diet's benefits - and a note there to ask this group? Any other's thoughts on this is appreciated but I realise it can probably only come down to making a personal decision myself. The cost is secondary at this stage, one problem being I cannot take Ibuprofen or Tylenol with them (so my sleep suffers with other pains) and being SO big, struggling to swallow. I think I also need large Vitamin D3 doses (and K2 because of that) but would struggle with the initial 25.000 I.U. (then 10,000 later) that he recommends. I might half that. I don't know Dr Budwigs views on that yet and it is hard to know how much to deviate from the protocol. Any suggestions please?

Weight loss

My mom surprised her pulmonary doc and PCP. Her last thoracenteses were back to back. In three days interval, they drained over 2000 cc each time.
She had her first thoracenteses this year two weeks ago and I noticed the first week she was weaker, not eating much.
I am happy to report she is eating a bit more each meal now and started to feel hungry!

while these are good signs, her weight dropped from 117 lb to 114lb.. They were only able to drain 1600 cc since my mom complained of chest pain and flushing in the face.

I am worried that such weight loss means the cancer is stronger and using more energy leading to,the continued weight loss?

can anyone shed some light on this?
She has been on Budwig religiously since November. No meat, no other dairy as well. When will we see or know that the protocol is taking hold and have the upper hand over this cancer on her pleural lining?

I have recently bought and used such as CBD oil and (being 'shot' free) the controversial Ivermectin but of course, found it impossible to obtain any NHS professional's opinion about it for me or my wife (has Parkinson's) so, having researched (finding much contradiction) I make my own mind up, as long as I know it to be safe.
Thank you for your best wishes - same to you. I am feeling quite positive at present, having read so many testimonials and reports from respected physicians on this approach.

Hi Sandy, Thank you SO much for all that information provided. You are most kind. I am struggling a bit with depression and anxiety/panic attacks (reluctantly, but of necessity, just started antidepressants and 2mg Diazapam) but hope to follow up here on all I can. Reasonable subscriptions for future sources of help should be no barrier for me, although I am beginning to find that going down this road is not without extra costs. I don't mind, if well spent. Module 9 - I just saw something about the EU/Big Phama possibly banning the use of traditional herbs for healing, making it illegal, forcing their drugs on us. :-(

Kind regards,

Hi Julie Ma, I am loosing track of my replies with them not showing but thank you. Only part way through, I have leaned SO much from his book about this major subject and really hope to benefit from following all it contains. Yes, this seems a great, supportive group and I feel blessed (as with coming across his book by accident in a charity shop) to have found it. Recipes most useful!

Re: New Group Member

Hi Julie, Thank you for getting in touch and for the helpful information to get me going. I naturally have lots of questions but don't want to bombard people with them now, all at once. I will finish BH's book (and see other sources of information, Budwig-related) for more answers. E.G, one online reviewer of his book questions the necessity (and ability) for patients to take SO many supplements (like vitamin D3 at 25,000 I.U per day for 5-6 weeks + several others!) although increasing the reading up to 70 or more must make sense. I hate tablet-taking but if i must, I will. I'll search those files as suggested. He (and it's inventor) even questions the validity? of the standard PSA blood test for cancer diagnosis, it being so unreliable. Much to learn, but my wife is creating great alternative meals already!

Kind regards,

Malcolm

Trust me Malcolm....most physicians, especially oncologists,? are aware of BP.
They just? do not want to jeopardize their standing and/or careers if they encourage the protocol over allopathic treatments.
Which for the most part...they are bound to adhere to.
When you start to show improvement over time on your markers using BP.....many will just comment,

So do not lament that you cannot discuss our BP protocol with them.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble in replying. I will take a look and probably buy it. I have found lots of information on these cancer-beating diets (some quite technical) ?and it does all seem a little overwhelming at this early stage. Bill Henderson (whose book, based on Budwig, started me off on this course) wrote that diet alone will not provide the hoped-for cancer elimination results without a daily intake of Beta-1,3d Glucan, etc. I have some ordered ¨C it sounds so good. I am now heading down this path of discovery to try and educate myself on good practice.
