Re: Flaxseed oil and PCa

I think what some of us may be ignoring is the fact that there truly
isn't a magic bullet - other than one's own body. Each of us is
different. Even our PCa's are different. As Cliff has mentioned,
there are over 30 various strains. Some strains and some bodies will
have a remission; in others, it is very possible that the FSO will
spread cancer. Again, each of us and our bodies and our cancers are
different, and there is no magic bullet, no one cure fits all.

So, instead of going on and on with this prattle back and forth on
both lists of does FSO work or not, let's just face the reality and
get in touch with our bodies. Let's not put any scientist or
researcher - not even Dr. Budwig - ahead of our own bodies. Let's
listen to them. If they tell us FSO will work, then use it. If they
are telling us to forget FSO, then find another alternative. There
are hundreds. A particular alternative could have cured thousands,
but if your body and your cancer will not respond to it, why use it?

I think these lists are fine for facts and data. But I'm going to
listen to my body first and ignore opinions. We all need to meditate
and get in touch with the healer within...not the healer on the list.

Thank you, Cliff.

When I began searching for non-invasive methods of treating my
recently
diagnosed PCa, I came across a page by Dr. Myers arguing that
flaxseed
oil did not combat PCa and was possibly harmful. He cited a study
that
had been done in Uruguay, where there is a high incidence of PCa and
where people consume large amounts of flaxseed oil. However, there
was
no mention of Dr. Budwig's insistence that the FO has to be
thoroughly
mixed with a sulphur-rich protein like quark or cottage cheese. I
started on the Budwig protocol in early August (interrupted briefly
by
the 8-day cleansing fast recommended by Lary Clapp). Since my PCa
is
microscopically small and at a stage that is
considered "insignificant"
by some oncologists, I didn't feel I needed to take more than 2 tbs
a
day. Recently I had my first PSA reading since July 1, and it is
unchanged at 5.06.

The reason I asked my question here is that every once in a while I
read
posts by people who are convinced that the Budwig protocol is
dangerous
for men with PCa, and I wonder where they get that information. If
anyone here knows of an actual refutation of Dr. Budwig's claims, I
would want to hear about it.

And Cliff, if you do find those refutations of Meyers' claims, I
would
be very interested in those as well.

Thanks for all your help,
Joel

This came from Dr. Charles Myers at the University of Virginia.
He
basically put some flax oil and a strain of PCa in a petri dish
and
the PCa
cells flourished.
