Does anyone in this forum have experiences with having a stent installed in esophagus?
My case is that I?ve had a tumor removed from e. in 2019, and afterwards a stenosis developed right under the position of the removed tumor. Now, the cancer seems to have come back and the stenosis has narrowed in. Since I cannot endure any of the 3 standard treatments, my only option is to heal myself from cancer. But right now doctors recommend me having a stent placed to help me getting food, which is now very difficult.
Having read a lot about stents, the dominating facts are about the lot of complications a stent can give. It may hurt, squeak, move away form original position, food can get stuck in the net etc. etc.
So, anyone who has uplifting, cheerful stories to tell about stents in esophagus?
