The Big Chill

Read on the internet:

"My electric bill this month should be the lowest it's been since I was single!"

"Power started at 2
Power ended at 2:07
Power started at 2:40
Power ended at 2:44
Yeah that’s right - I’m keeping track!"

I have one of those despicable wireless meters but that means I can log onto my account and watch how my tricks to keep the bill down are working.

That's what we get for depending on silly windmills for power in the Green New Deal. YMMV.

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott proudly accepted something called the Wind Leadership Award. Go figure.

They're now talking about building offshore wind systems here in the Bay Area.

When we had planned outages two years ago I got to try out my camp stove for the first time and figure out what I would want to have on hand if outages occurred again.? They have had planned outages since but what they learned since is there are some grids they should not turn off.? I happen to be on one of those grids due to hospitals nearby.

The Texas snow storm may have been a test of a geo warfare weapon.

You're losing it—come back B2, come back to reality!!

In?, Scott L. Biddle wrote that the storm resulted from "weather manipulation and controlling the jet stream" —?something he assured people is "not a conspiracy theory."?

"Joe Biden's ‘Dark Winter’ statement was not a random thought, it was a foreshadow of what was to come," Biddle wrote. "Texas is the only state to have its own, entirely independent electric grid separate from the rest of the United States. This is warfare, an attack on Texas by altering the jet stream, seeding the clouds, and ultimately causing the storm that blacked out over 4 million people."

"Sound crazy? Too hard to believe? Believe it." ~Dark Winter Conspiracy

Don't believe it B2!??

You’re kidding right? Him and reality parted ways long ago.?

Like you and Emily have a clue what reality is.? You lived a sheltered life in FF.? FYI Em, those of us who grew up in farm country know about cloud seeding which is an early form of geo engineering.

Again, you seem to misunderstand your own thought process.? You said the following:??

B2: "The Texas snow storm may have been a test of a geo warfare weapon."

I looked it up and found that this idea, specifically tied to the Texas snow storm, is rooted in a conspiracy theory.? The issue is not whether cloud seeding is real.?The issue is that you are supposing that the Texas storm may have been a "test of a geo warfare weapon."? ?From where do you get your information?? This isn't a belief rooted in reality, I'm sorry to say.??

You and Willard are alike in that you both like to throw out propaganda that belies common sense, spreads disinformation, and serves no valid purpose.? I'm not sure he believes the propaganda he spews.? You, OTOH present as a true blue conspiracy theorist.? I find this very funny, as you seem to be able to logic out computer systems, but can't seem to apply logic to your assumptions or to what you read and listen to.??

Yes, and the granola I ate for breakfast could be alien feces surreptitiously placed in my cereal bowl by the deep state too. Or maybe it was the leaf on my doormat which is actually a listening device. Gawd, when you're dissatisfied with the wonder and surprise of everyday life invent shit!

Apparently this is common practice in China. China built three times as much coal power in 2020, more than the rest of the world combined. Go figure.

Out of the 45 gigawatts that went dark, 18 gigawatts were from wind and solar. Go figure.

Texas Energy Outage Postmortem

You do realize you're getting your information from a science fiction writer, don't you?? Get me an expert and we'll talk.??

The Number One reason people froze to death is because the Texas power grid is not connected to other grids that could have provided backup.? The Number Two reason is because the grid is privatized—inevitably underinvested in as the quest by private industry for more and more of the almighty dollar goes on and on—and was badly underinvested in and so underprepared.?
? ??

Benjamin Sovacool, professor of energy policy at the University of Sussex, reportedly told Newsweek that in Northern Europe, “wind power operates very reliably in even colder temperatures, including the upper Arctic regions of Finland, Norway, and Sweden.” ()

More can be read on adapting renewable energy forms to cold weather??,??, and??.

Crucially, the continued use and investment of renewable energy can help slow the effects of climate change, which leads to more extreme weather patterns.

A recent Reuters fact check of social media posts claiming to show “a helicopter, using fossil fuels, spraying de-icer, made with fossil fuels, to de-ice a wind turbine” in Texas is available??.??
