Agree. This isn't a both sides. One side is hell bent on overthrow. What can a recently "woke white person" do?? I'm reading So You Want to Talk About Race, by Ijeoma Oluo, a Seattle author.? An accessible read.? I've also bought Caste, by Isabel Wilkerson and The Sum of Us, by Heather McGee.? There are a lot of excellent reads out there right now.? We, as white people, have a responsibility to educate ourselves on the nature of our white privilege and get with the program.? This is certainly a tragedy, but, I can't help asking "What in the world is Indonesia doing with submarines? Is this what the government spends the people's tax money on?" It's just outrageous! Go figure.

The networks are upping their sound quality for streaming. For me, the convenience and lower cost of online movies and music far outstrips any barely perceptible quality improvement of having disks or records for playback, and I'm unlikely to buy a UHD disc again at these prices. These days if I purchase online it would be greatest hits compilation to add to my disc library. ? Last time I checked the rare SACD three disc set of Santana live in Japan, recorded in 1973, (Lotus ****) was going for $75.00 on Amazon and vinyl for $185.00 (SONY ASIN : B01MV3SPLJ). Go figure. Santana's Lotus is my second favorite Santana album, after Caravanserai. (Latin-jazz fusion), second group lineup, back when Carlos was playing with John McLaughlin and Buddy Miles. YMMV. Santana - Lotus 1973 (Full Album HQ) Caravanserai [MFSL SACD R ] Full HQ: Note: This Japan SONY release is NOT quadraphonic - it is 5.1 surround sound. According to what I've read, the SACD might be slightly better than original LP and probably somewhat better than the original CD. When it goes out of print collectors (Santana fanatics) will pay big bucks for a copy of this concert. "This is a perfect document of the concert, with the audience at the rear and the band wailing up front." Santana - Lotus - SACD review: |

In fact, the vaccine was already formulated just two weeks after the first case was reported in the US, but because of bureaucratic red tape the vaccine couldn't be made available until months later after thousands had died. I have cables running along the ceiling corners. We plan on getting a 4K TV set someday. At present we have a 50 inch Samsung Smart TVs hanging around, which we inherited. We bought this house in Arlington which came totally furnished - TVs wall mounted in each bedroom and one in the main room. They each have Chromecast built in. This place used to be an Air B&B before the economy tanked. It's only ten miles to AT&T Stadium and five miles to UTA campus. Sweet! The previous owner had a sound bar tacked onto the wall under the main TV which I got rid of. YMMV. |

I'm listening through Klipsch speakers too.So, I forgot to tell you my new Yamaha receiver has dual zone capability. I haven't hooked that up yet but I plan to run speaker wire out to the patio this summer. The problem is I would have to run cables up in the attic. I hate having cables running around the house on the floor. On the TV set in the living room, which is wall mounted, I should run the power and HDMI cable through the wall so it is hidden. YMMV. Our tapes and CDs have gone the way of all flesh though. If you love watching movies and listening to music at home, and you have lots of DVDs and CDs, you may want to build a digital system that can deliver your movies and music without having to physically insert the disk in a player in a particular room. If you're like me, you've got the records in a carton in the garage or basement, the DVDs in shoe boxes, and the CDs on the coffee table. Sure, you can simply hook up a laptop with an HDMI cable and connect to an outboard storage device like a flash drive to store and retrieve your data in the living room. But, what I need is a device to deliver all my files, the videos, photos, the documents and music to any room in my house at any time; a place to store the large digital video and music files, and the current book I'm writing. I need a fast and easy way to access all the files, streaming via wireless connectivity to my phone, my laptop, iPad or desktop computer in the office or anywhere else in the house. I don't have time to be running back to the living room to flip a tape. If you like this idea, you'll want a fast broadband connection with a wireless dual-band N router. And, a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device. That way, videos, movies, TV recordings and music can all be accessed at the touch of a button. With a NAS you get a great Admin Console GUI to work with that is intuitive and looks wonderful. Nothing is cryptic, and everything you want is right there in front of you. NAS devices mimic file servers on a network. However instead of a big computer, the NAS is just a small box. A NAS is preferable to portable hard drives because multiple computers can access and save to them with a wireless connection. A NAS can be as simple as a USB stick connected to your internet router. YMMV. |
