The networks are upping their sound quality for streaming.
For me, the convenience and lower cost of online movies and music far outstrips any barely perceptible quality improvement of having disks or records for playback, and I'm unlikely to buy a UHD disc again at these prices. These days if I purchase online it would be greatest hits compilation to add to my disc library. ?

Last time I checked the rare SACD three disc set of Santana live in Japan, recorded in 1973, (Lotus ****) was going for $75.00 on Amazon and vinyl for $185.00 (SONY ASIN : B01MV3SPLJ). Go figure.

Santana's Lotus is my second favorite Santana album, after Caravanserai. (Latin-jazz fusion), second group lineup, back when Carlos was playing with John McLaughlin and Buddy Miles. YMMV.

Note: This Japan SONY release is NOT quadraphonic - it is 5.1 surround sound. According to what I've read, the SACD might be slightly better than original LP and probably somewhat better than the original CD. When it goes out of print collectors (Santana fanatics) will pay big bucks for a copy of this concert.

"This is a perfect document of the concert, with the audience at the rear and the band wailing up front."
