Fairfield Estates Mailboxes and Speeding
Neighbors,
The FERMID Board met this evening. We sincerely apologize if not everyone saw the notice. We were unaware the notice had blown off the mailboxes. In the future we will be attaching a sign to the mailbox barriers to post future notices. Additionally, we will be sending out notices over the email group as a back up to the physical notice. With that being said, I wanted to say thank you to all that helped get the mailboxes installed. It was a significant accomplishment, and though it certainly took longer than any one wanted, in the end we were successful.
Regarding the mailboxes, there is already evidence that some individuals are driving up onto the concrete pad to attempt to check their mail from inside their vehicle. The board is respectfully asking individuals to park their cars and exit their vehicles to check their mail. There is to great a potential for a car to hit the mail boxes if you attempt to pull up close enough to check your mail without exiting your vehicle. We feel to much effort and money has been spent to have our new mailboxes damaged in this fashion.
Secondly, there has been a few concerns with vehicles speeding down Fairfield and Paseo Venado. Again, the board is respectfully asking that residents of the district as well as their guests please obey the posted speed limit. As an added incentive, the board is exploring installing speed humps to encourage vehicles to slow down. This will be a discussion at the next board meeting.

We all need to fill out a forwarding address change form from our PO Box to our street address. I was given one when I picked up our keys.? USPO told me that will allow all the mail to be forwarded to our street address box.? He also told me that we need to get our address changed with all our contacts within 30 days.? Penny
