Update: the Grader appears to have crowned the roads, however the rain didn¡¯t come for compaction thus it will be dusty until we do. Please look over his work and if he needs to do a little more, we need to ?show him specifically what that is. He is planning on being back out tomorrow around 6 ish.? I will be out of town most of the day tomorrow so I won¡¯t be able to help!

Thanks, Ken. He is healthy and has strong bones so we expect a full recovery, in time. ?
Penny,
Sharon and I wish Hal a speedy
recovery.?
The only household not on this email?
list is the pathologist, Max Mirot. I told him about the mailbox
project, give him a handout with information, and told him to
email me if he wished to be on the list, but he never responded.
I'm in favor of having professionals do
the road repairs.

Great photos, Mark. I appreciate?it. FYI, Hal is
out of commission for a while having just had surgery on a
fractured hip bone. Personally, I would suggest getting
estimates on the pot holes repair to see if we have the money to
hire it done asap. Also I¡¯m not sure all Fairfield Road Group is
in this email group. The pathologist and wife on the corner are
not, and I suspect there are others but I don¡¯t really know.
Does anyone have a list of homeowners to get anyone added that
may be missing? Lastly, I would like to ask that the circle
turnaround at the end of Paseo Venado be included in the grading
and have the big hole filled with dirt from the garbage trucks
and other big truck traffic in there. There¡¯s an overhanging
bush/tree(s) on the south side of Paseo Venado over the road at
the opening to the circle at the deadend that could really use
cut back before the grader comes. Hal was going to do it but
didn¡¯t and can¡¯t now. I¡¯m not good with a chain saw, honestly. I
am strong and capable of using a shovel, rake, clippers,
wheelbarrow, etc. So if this group decides to schedule work
days, count me in. If I can help some way in making sure all
neighbors are being contacted to join this group, let me know
what I can do. I¡¯m excited to have our mailboxes soon. Yay!
Thanks for all ya¡¯all¡¯s efforts in getting all this stuff done
for our neighborhood! We appreciate you all!

Mark,?
Thank you for your concern.?
So the grader is supposed to come out in
the next week or so. The plan is to shape the drainage
along the west side of Fairfield and realign and grade
the unimproved roads. It should also replace the soil
washed away from the west edge.?
The pot holes and low spots can be filled
in with asphalt and compacted. We can do this
ourselves.?
When we all get together we can get allot
done in little time. However, just getting together can
be difficult.?
Do others want to do the work ourselves,
or hire it out??
Any other ideas would??be appreciated.
Jimmy
Greetings
Fairfield Estates Neighbors!
Please
read the following knowing I am not writing to
rouse emotion or to blame anyone. I just want to
make all aware.
For the
first time in 10 years the ¡°Palisades Wash¡± had a
significant amount of runoff come through in the
last few days.? Not since the summer of 2011 (the
year of the Montezuma Fire) have we gotten as much
runoff than in the past week to my memory.
Our roads
need attention, they are slowly falling apart.
Some of
you know that I walk the roads almost daily.? I
was concerned previously but I have seen more
damage to the understructure of the road base in
the last week.? If we do not act fairly soon our
roads will become islands of chip seal surrounded
by bare dirt, or even worse, ruts that we will not
want to drive through.
I know
the Board has been discussing?maintenance plans
but in my opinion we must act soon.
