Re: Happy holidays everyone!
Greetings all!
Hopefully, things are ending for the year on a contented,
tranquil note!
Cynthia: Congratulations! Do I sense another one-person
show in your future?? Very exciting!
For the holidays, I'll be:
- Spending time with family including the NYC branch.
- Playing lots of backgammon.
- Starting a new knitting project.
- Trying to get ahead on a few projects.
- Clearing out my office clutter. (Ridding myself of my
"geologic filing system" e.g., three months old, five inches
down.
It would be great to "jump start" the new year with a
get-together...? I've missed seeing everyone.
Enjoy everyone!

Oh my! I haven't looked at surveymonkey
pricing in a long time, apparently!
I have no idea but am very
interested in what you learn.
I would just drop the bucks on
surveymonkey because you already know how to use it and its
capabilities.? The difference in price will be a LOT less than spending
time to learn a new tool (considering both design and analysis aspects
of the tool) and the risks involved in using a tool you aren't as
familiar with.
And after this, if you think you'll be doing
similar surveys, you can experiment with other tools before you are in a
position to need one quickly again.
Happy holidays, everyone!
I
want to get together again in the new year! I miss you all!

My suggestions:
1) Make sure she has your email address in her contacts folder,
and/or whitelisted - however she does that.
2) Check with your own email service provider and ask if there
is something that can be done from your end.
I periodically have this issue when Megan Collie from MAFN sends
me email. Sometimes, it ends up in my SPAM folder for no good
reason, but most of the time it doesn't.
Here is an article that is recent that might help. I just
googled "why are my emails going into people's spam". You may
find other resources.
This was interesting - I didn't know about this tool (from that
article):
Use Mail Tester to
spot issues
Mail Tester is an awesome free tool to spot
technical issues with email deliverability. All you need to do
is:
- Send an email to the address that it gives
(from the email account where you¡¯re having spam issues). If
you¡¯re having issues with a specific email, make sure to use
the same text/images/links in your email.
- Click the?Then check your score?button.
- View the analysis.
Mail Tester will give you an overall score along
with some suggestions to improve. You can expand each section
for more details:

Hi All!
The time has come to tap your collective wisdom and
experience. My emails have been landing in spam folders
increasingly of late and I'm not able to detect any
pattern.? Here are two very different examples that occurred
this week:
- An Outlook evite containing a Zoom link ended up in an
association client's folder.? (She requested the meeting.)
This happened twice. I used a different email address to
suggest that she check her spam folder where she located
both of them.
- A regular Comcast email containing three .pdf proposal
attachments (not large ones). Client had originally said
she'd send a confirmation and she didn't.? I phoned her
and she reported that the email was in her spam folder.
Has anyone else detected this trend? Is there something I
could be doing differently? I know I could ask for "return
receipt." However, many find that annoying!
Thanks!

association client's folder.? (She requested the meeting.) This
happened twice. I used a different email address to suggest that
she check her spam folder where she located both of them.
- A regular Comcast email containing three .pdf proposal
attachments (not large ones). Client had originally said she'd
send a confirmation and she didn't.? I phoned her and she
reported that the email was in her spam folder.
Has anyone else detected this trend? Is there something I could
be doing differently? I know I could ask for "return receipt."
However, many find that annoying!
Thanks!
Laura

Steering clear of spam folders!?
Hi All!
The time has come to tap your collective wisdom and experience.
My emails have been landing in spam folders increasingly of late
and I'm not able to detect any pattern.? Here are two very
different examples that occurred this week:
- An Outlook evite containing a Zoom link ended up in an
association client's folder.? (She requested the meeting.) This
happened twice. I used a different email address to suggest that
she check her spam folder where she located both of them.
- A regular Comcast email containing three .pdf proposal
attachments (not large ones). Client had originally said she'd
send a confirmation and she didn't.? I phoned her and she
reported that the email was in her spam folder.
Has anyone else detected this trend? Is there something I could
be doing differently? I know I could ask for "return receipt."
However, many find that annoying!
Thanks!

Re: Need honest feedback - does this video feel and sound like me?
Thanks everyone! Becky - so sorry
you had a hard time - yes - my target audience has bandwidth - good
point. Thanks to all of you for your feedback.? Here are my own
thoughts: - It doesn't feel as much like me as I want it to.?
Not as real or authentic.
- Feels rushed - maybe it was teh
speed of the teleprompter or maybe I was nervous or maybe they sped it
up for the final video. In any event, it sounds more rushed and louder
than I feel I am normally.
- It doesn't feel conversational - and
while I know I followed their framework for what to say as I developed
my script, I was really trying to make it sound like I wasn't reading it
- but I didn't get there.
- I was doing something weird with my
shoulder and have some strange shrugging movement that I don't like.
- I
agree with all the other points that you all made.
??? I
did like the color of the shirt I wore.? : )
??? While I will
let it stay on the neXco member directory, it is not something I would
use in my own marketing.
??? However, it was an interesting
experience and makes me want to create something similar - but
different. I have a colleague who does video and could help me create
something better. And now, I know what to expect and could practice it a
little differently. Plus, she could add a different background.? So
this has motivated me to actually hire someone to create a video for
me.? So from that perspective, this was worthwhile and I'm very glad I
did not pay for it.
??? I think the company that did this was
good - from my experience since this is the only time I've ever done
anything like this. So part if my reaction is probably just that I don't
like seeing myself on camera, or promoting myself, or both. But I've
done so much on Zoom cameras over the last several years that I wasn't
as petrified as I might have been before - although I wouldn't even have
DONE this a few years ago!
Anyway - thanks for your feedback.
This is all helpful! Linda

Re: Need honest feedback - does this video feel and sound like me?
I have very different feedback. As I have encountered other times, Vimeo is very unfriendly to low bandwidth.? I've tried several times at different times of the day to load the video, and I get "unable to load. Tap to reload." I guess it isn't really an issue since your target customers have decent internet.?

Re: Need honest feedback - does this video feel and sound like me?
Hi Linda,
Loved your voice tone, and pitch.? Your final words felt sincere and inviting.? I feel the initial camera shot was way too close making me feel you were invading my space and I didn't know if I wanted you there yet or not.? I feel over all this was good stuff and like the rest of the troops, practice will make perfect:>)
