I haven't used one . . . yet. ?But on the Ham Radio Workbench Podcast a week or so ago they talked about this one - I'm pretty interested in it. ?The 857 screen is just too small for even casual use

For the control head I'm assuming you mean having 2 runs of cable, One into the truck and one into the camper. I would worry about the unterminated line acting as an antenna and causing RFI issues. If

Looks like Yaesu is no longer "repairing" radios but just replacing circuit boards. These days I have had much better luck (and less-expensive repairs) ant independent repair shops like hamrepair.com

Jack ... I assume it did earlier? If not, it may not be a USA-version which was the only version that allowed 60 meter operation. 60 meters is fixed. You cannot lose it. See page 40 of the manual. You
