Re: FT857 + FC-40 + CAT
Agreed, but I do like all the bells and whistles the AT-100 has, SWR and power meter, 2 antennas switch, programmable threshold and so on. Giuseppe Marullo IW2JWW - JN45RQ

Re: FT857 + FC-40 + CAT
For a travel/portable tuner I prefer the Z11ProII over the AT-100 or AT-200.? Smaller footprint, lower current draw and accepts internal batteries so no additional power source is needed. Tuning

Re: FT857 + FC-40 + CAT
Vitor, why don't you consider a AT-200 Pro from LDG? not weatherproof but way capable of tuning almost everything(I guess better than FC-40) and CAT is completely independent. Only drawback is that

I have tried multiple cables. the last of which came from an unopened separation kit. the jack on the head is newly replaced by yaesu. I'll check the jack on the radio and if nothing found, I guess

Why not just use a 40m EFHW? Less stuff to carry and hook up? Unless you really want to operate on 12 and 17m. [email protected]> wrote:

Check out DigiRig.net-it works great with my FT857-D. Not sure if N1MM will drive a soundcard modem, but there are virtual TNC programs that it should work with. I use a paid version of VARA HF (again

Re: FT-857d WILL NOT TURN ON. CYCLES ON/OFF ABOUT ONCE PER SECOND CONTINOUSLY
The head sends a regular sync pulse to the radio body. If the body does not get the sync, it shuts down. The issue is with the connection from head to radio. Clean that cable contacts or even better,
Re: FT-857d WILL NOT TURN ON. CYCLES ON/OFF ABOUT ONCE PER SECOND CONTINOUSLY
I had the same issue with the unit installed in my vehicle, with the head mounted remotely. This would happen intermittantly, but got progressively more often. I even swapped with my other radio from

The DOT and DASH inputs on the FT857 are in series with some 1K (or maybe 10 Ko, I don't remember) resistors that are on the back of the board, but are very small. These break because they
