Yes, definitely on AM.? Checked via both the radio mode button and via FLdigi rig control several times. Changing mode gives a significantly loude volume but distorted as you would expect. Weird.... Dennis N1TEN?

AM Broadcast Stations Distorted
Dennis Yard
Good evening folks, This week I went to my radio's? AM broadcast stations to listen to local radio. ? They are programmed in along with local FM as well as the usual simplex and repeater frequencies. ? What I got in the way of audio was very low volume and highly distorted. This was on all three stations I checked. I changed the wire antenna to a different one with no change in behavior. ? All the rest of the bands and modes appear to be fine.? FM broadcast, SSB and digital modes for example.? Can anyone suggest a menu item I may have accidentally changed which would cause this?? Ive looked at all 91 or so without any obvious changes.? 73 and thanks in advance. Dennis? N1TEN San Diego |

There are options out there. Try searching YouTube for other things too to get ideas.? Unlikely to find instructions so you just mostly have to learn by seeing how others have done it too.? Re: PC Control of YAESU FT 857d incl. ATU (YT-100 LDG) and SCU-17 interface (and LD-C100 USB TO CT-62 ?) to use FLDigi 4.1.04.01 and WSJT-X (last version)

Hi Kelly,
brilliant. How magic is it to control FT857d now by PC. Thanks a lot !!! FLdigi runs now perfect with FLrig as the companion software (typo above ignored by me) and WSJT-X, too. FLdigi with FLrig as Rig Control for FT857D Step 1: Installation FLrig -> Download from this homepage https://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Flrig.shtml and installation done, program FLrig started. Step 2: Enhanced port used - correctly identified - but failure occurred ! Step 3: Additionally the "LDC-100 USB TO CT-62" cable connected from PC-USB to ATU YT-100 (LDG). and again tried with this result: FT857D-choosen, "LDC-100 USB TO CT-62" cable seen by the windows 10 PC as "USB-Serial CH340" at COM7 pressing Init caused short FT857d Reaction what shows PC and 857d is connected now. In FLdigi i have inserted under Autostart programms with FLdigi the FLrig path. So now i need only to start FLdigi and both programms run directly. So not as expected, the 2nd cable (ct-62) was obviously needed with this configuration on my side. I have now 2 USB connections, one for the SCU-17 and one by the CT-62 to the ATU, which is plugged into the FT857d. This does not mean, that there is another solution to keep the full function less CT-62, but i say now, don?t touch a running system after one year searching for improvement. WSJT-X Step 1: WSJT-X vers. v2.1.2 0068f9 started. But here, again, i don?t get the configuration found immediately. Step 2: Baud rate was wrong. So i corrected this to 4800 and even control runs for WSJT-X. Last change was USB as Mode, so that not even this needs to be manually changed, if the receiver was e.g. in CW Mode before. What comfort it is now simply to change within WSJT-X the bands and all is where it should be at the FT857d. Again, Kelly, great help and support from your side. Thanks a lot. I have had no chance without your hints. I am more than happy with this progress as you can imagine. Stay Healthy, Regards Armin DL1AL PS: conditions 01-04 attached

Re: PC Control of YAESU FT 857d incl. ATU (YT-100 LDG) and SCU-17 interface (and LD-C100 USB TO CT-62 ?) to use FLDigi 4.1.04.01 and WSJT-X (last version)
开云体育? Hi Armin, ? I'll take a crack at this as I do have the FT-857D, SCU-17 and the YT-100 tuner. ? ? Rigcontrol, Rigcat and flrig (within fldigi) are simply external programs to control the transceiver. Rigcontrol uses software called Hamlib. Rigcat is just that, rigcat. fldigi is a companion software to fldigi that controls the rig. ? So Pick one. ??Only one can be used at a time. ? WSJT-X has rig control capabilities within it.? I don't know if it is completely different, or if it has hamlib or rigcat embedded in it. ? I personally use flrig with fldigi. With WSJT-X, I use the DXLAB suite, I believe in the menu it is DX Commander. ? So to control the 857D with flrig, you simply configure the correct model of transceiver (857d) and point the port to the correct port.? Using the SCU-17, there are 2 ports created, one standard and one Enhanced.? Use the Enhanced port for rig control.? Assuming the serial parameters are matched, flrig should start talking to the transceiver and changes on the transceiver should reflect in fldigi and so on. ? ? Hope that helps, ? Kelly kg5igo ? ? Hello,
i am Armin DL1AL and i am asking for help in this topic. As new member please don?t expect knowledge of all aberrations, so please be patient with me. My aim is finally to have in this topic all necessary hints in a reader friendly way, other readers with same problem can use. Please consider, that i have not all info available and need you to get it done. So start to answer with high level descriptions with all what is needed and please then go on with details. Thanks again for your understanding. Status: i can send and hear and do this since about 1 year für WSJT-X and about 6 weeks for FLdigi, both software applications in base mode. This makes big fun especially using room antennas and therefor <= 10 Watt output for short wave, but getting even in this worst case condition long distance QSOs done. Detail: I can use the base software FLdigi? 4.1.04.01 (Mode DIG) and WSJT-X (Mode USB) to hear, decode and send with YAESU FT 857d incl. ATU (YT-100 LDG for sure in full function) and SCU-17 interface (I have the "LDC-100 USB TO CT-62" cable available, but i have it not in use !!!). My problem: I don?t know how to get it done, that i can control YAESU FT857d with my PC Detail: Which software is missing. What is difference between "Rigcontrol" and "RigCAT" and "flrig" within FLdigi and what is behind "CAT Control" within WSJT-X. (Even without FLdigi and WSJT-X i thought there is a software available which allows me to control 857d with my PC) I would be happy, if a member of this group is using same hard- and software configuration successfully and can answer. Many thanks in advance and Stay Healthy Armin, DL1AL |
