Just my two cents, but maybe an cheaper alternative will be to use an external display.
I personnaly use Catdisplay, the orginal one from ZL1CVD:

They seems to have some clones from China: or others just look for "cat display".

Not sure of your online shopping access but below are two options/links. The first link is to a guy who refurbishes FT-857 control heads (all with original Yeasu parts too). If you are more adventurous DIYer, the second link is to order an Yeasu FT-857 replacement screen so you can do?the repair yourself. ?There are several YouTube videos out there on doing the repair yourself. ?Hope this helps and good luck.

I have an extra brand new unopened package blue tooth CAT interface , a YC1-BT VE2DX unit.? (I'll open and send photos if you insist).? See ?for full specs. $50 firm plus domestic US shipping: $5 US First Class postage (no tracking) or $9.50 Priority Mail with tracking and insurance (I recommend the Priority Mail option).? Outside US actual shipping once I calculate it.??

Observation: I've previously had the Ebay units with a pair of FT817 and the YC1-BT is way better packaged and looks like it could hold up in the field.? I was always worried about the Ebay version breaking off and leaving me with a messed up jack in the radio.

Antenna switches pop up there from time to time, in fact I think there is one listed now. Alpha Delta brand is the best in my opinion.

Try Repeater Book on you cell.? That app provides nearby repeater info based on GPS location data.? Don’t know if available for Apple though Apple seems to have everything.?? Regards, Phil / K4PO
