I've been using both. They are stable and quiet. The 1223 is over 30 years old and never a problem. The fan in the 1235M was acting out a bit and I replaced it with a high quality computer fan. The fan runs more than I would like but it is reasonably quiet. The 1223 is now on 24/7 to power my IC-7300 for remote operation. Both are rock solid.

It's on its way to me now. I liked the easy to read dual meters - I'm
a sucker for dials - and the fact that it's quiet.
MFJ 4230 was also in the running. I couldn't find any sellers for the
Gamma.
