If you ground the brown wire that maximum power output is reduced to
20 watts. It was first used in the 897. When the battery was
installed, the power was reduced to 20 watts to lengthen battery
life. Since the 857 and 897 share a motherboard, the brown wire was
made available on the 857 series.
