You have to make sure the locking mechanism inside the powerpoles is
engaged. Sometimes it takes a little extra push to get that "click"
that ensures that the connector is all the way in. Once it's
engaged, they won't come apart unless you release the connector. I
always listen for the click and give them a tug just to make sure.

I made a 3 pin Power Pole,
red, black and brown, then made a power pole jumper that with
the brown wire shorted that could be thrown in the middle if I
wanted to used it that way.? ?When I got the radio, and went
to hook up the factory cable, it pulled off in my hand.?
