I still want to know how they're getting 100 watts out just by
keying the mic. Sideband doesn't show any output until you modulate
the signal, and the radio is only rated for 25 watts on AM and CW.

Borrow a Bird Throughline and check the power again. Cheap meters
are known for calibration problems.
