I always the AGC ON no matter the mode (the radio will turn it off in FM mode anyway).....set it to auto or med/slow for best operation....My AM station (I owned Musicradio1300 KLLS AM Stereo from 2015 to last Dec) sounded real good on my FT857...if only it had an AM stereo decoder chip in it LOL.....
