I was buying the parts in stages to cheaply get back on the air after having a 6-ish month break (I often buy new Yaesu rigs and sell them to fund another - but had a gap in the cycle). I must have owned at least 6, closer to 10 FT-857D radios since being licenced in 2008. I had a new YF-122C and YF-122S and had just ordered the TXCO-9 when I saw this thread. I went to ML&S and they had on the FT-857D product page they had just got their last batch ever from the factory, so I had to accellerate my timetable and manged to get one! So I am lucky to have one of the last ones of the production line and as this radio will certainly go down in history as a classic, I will never sell it.
