Larry,
?The LDG YT-100 uses the cat port but provides a cat port for
your rig control. so you won't be loosing anything. Yes you can
use an MFJ 993 B autotuner without using a cat port. it will auto
tune the antenna as soon as you key they radio on the band using
either FM or AM modes. Just run the 993B in AUTO mode. hope this
helps you out.

? Anyone using A non CAT controlled AUTO tuner for
the 857D?? ?I currently have the CAT on the radio tied
up with? DXLAB software for rig control.? I have an
manual MFJ tuner that I have owned for more than 25
years.? The thing is bullet proof .? I would like to use
a? MFJ model (what ever) Auto tuner without? using CAT
control for it.? I have seen Youtube segments that show
MFJ Auto tuners being used on older equipment but they
were not clear as to exactly how they were being used.
? I am aware that? ?LDG makes several tuners that
will interface the 857d without using a CAT Connection,
The? AT 200 PRO II?
uses the ACCY connector and cable for connection... The
reviews for the LDG tuners are mixed.? So are some of
the MFJ's.? I have not owned any LDG products.? But I
have owned several? MFJ products and almost all
performed up to expectations.
? So. if you have
experience? using a auto tuner as I have described? or
if you know of a handy dandy? ?Super y cable for CAT
connection,? I would like to hear from you......here or?
