I recently replaced this encoder on a 857 because the shaft of the encoder was broken.
My opinion is that it is not possible to repair the encoder itself because of the way it is constructed and the small parts that are inside. Replacing the complete encoder is not difficult and everybody with little soldering skills can do it. The part itself is around $30

Hi. ? My Rotary Encoder select knob is locked up in one direction. ? Has anybody experienced this before or have you perhaps taken one apart and could provide insight on whether its worth attempting a rescue? ? Thanks Marius zr6p ?
