Left-handed Instructions
Hello Ladies,
There has been some confusion as to the instructions downloaded.? The right handed instructions have a RH in the file title.? The lefthanded have a LH in the file title. ? At the top of page 1 of the LH version it says "Left-handed Instruction for" -? Also in the footer it says LH - DayDreams.? ?At the top of page 1 of the RH version it says? "Right-handed Instruction for" -? Also in the footer it says RH - DayDreams.?? I hope this clears up any confusion Regards, Barbara |

Re: Finished Size
Sorry I did not reply sooner.? Thursdays are my Toronto guild day and I usually leave at 8:00am and get home around 9:00pm.?
Ok ladies,? I have measure my pattern size both the one I have used in the past and the one I printed this morning on legal size paper (8.5" x 14" (21.5cm x 35.5cm)) the actual design size on both is? 12" x 7" (30.5cm x18cm).? The design size on the fabric is 12" x 6?" (30.5cm x 16.5cm).? The slightly smaller height could be due to shrinkage after washing. This design will not fit on letter size paper as it is only 8.5" x 11" , the printer must shrink the pattern in order for it to print. The design is place on the linen with the width (12" (30.5cm)) across the 22" (56cm) width of the linen as in diagram 1 on the hint pages. Hope this helps to clear up any confusion. Regards Barbara |
Re: Finished Size
Hi
I found when I copied on legal size it was exactly the same as regular, which is why I am asking Barbara for the actual size of the embroidery so I can adjust accordingly. For some reason my printer did not default like Peggy’s did. I will wait for Barbara’s answer before I transfer the design. Mary |
Finished Size
Hello everyone.? I hope this reaches everyone regarding the difference between the legal size paper for the drawing as opposed to the reg. size paper.? We have done a copy on reg. size paper and one on legal size.? The sizes of the motifs are larger on the legal size paper and therefore I'm sure will give one more room for? stitching when transferred to fabric.? Seems to me that the motifs from reg. size paper will make for some tight squashed-in stitching.? What do you think?...............Christine inParksville |
Re: Welcome
HAPPY? YEAR 2019. Some of you I know, others I am glad to meet you and I am pleased to stitch with you all.
I?have read that some of you are worried about the size of your design. I found it a bit small as well so?I will?wait for the exact dimention?from Barbara. Meanwhile as I am known to be a rebel?I copied the design?on a word document and enlarged it as much as possible. I printed it setting my printer for the legal paper that I used but it?would fit on letter peper.?I just have to toutch up the lower lines a bit. If Barbara approve here is the?word large design. |
Re: Finished Size
I'm just wondering if different printers are interpreting the pdf's differently. When I printed the Drawings 2 file, the default paper size was Legal. The printed design is 12 1/2 inches across it's largest dimension. That makes sense to me in relation to the size of the fabric. But if it's correct and every printer was reading it that way, it would be coming out the same for everybody, and it's not. Now I'm questioning if mine's correct. Also, just to clarify--the EAC registration page lists the design size as 11 by 19. That's the finished pillow size? I hope it's okay to post a comment like this. It's my first cyber course. If Barbara's supposed to be the only one responding, I apologize. Peggy |
Re: Design placement
hello Heather,
When I first wrote this course I had the students divide the fabric in 3 sections and then during the class realized that what I had told was the equivalent of placing the design in the middle.? I had forgotten about it and obviously did not correct the original instructions.? So? please ignore the "beneath the middle section" and follow the hints document. Hope this helps. Barbara |
Announcement/explanation
I totally forgot to tell you guys that the first message each person sends to the group I have to approve. (I've never disapproved anybody's yet, incidentally.) That means if I'm not right on my email that your message may languish for a little while before it gets distributed to everybody. Sorry!

Re: Welcome
开云体育Hello Barbara,I ran the course information off this morning including the design page on 8.5 x 11” paper. It fit just fine. Is there a reason for running it off on 8.5 x 14” paper.? Gitte Volk On Jan 1, 2019, at 8:45 AM, bmkershaw <bmkershaw@...> wrote: Hello Ladies, |
Re: Welcome
Thanks Barbara. I do have one question. I thought that I understand how to lay out the pattern for the design transfer, Diagram 1 on page 2 was very clear. However when I read the directions for transfer on page 5 this line confused me:
Based on diagram 1 it seems that the design should be centered both ways on the fabric, with the longer edge across the 22" width. I am not sure what you mean by "beneath the middle section". Sorry to be a nuisance, but the last thing that I want to do is start off on the wrong foot with the transfer. Thanks! Welcome
Hello Ladies,
Welcome to the new DayDreams cyber course.? I do hope you enjoy learning or continuing to enhance your knowledge of Schwalm embroidery.? If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.? There are a couple of people who I sent kits too that I did not hear from so I hope José that you did receive the package?? Marina I know your kit had a long journey and I have no idea how long it would have taken to get to you? I do hope you got it on time but if not please let me now when it arrives. Please be aware that when you are ready to print the design page in order to transfer the design to the fabric that the design page needs to be printed on legal size paper (8.5" x 14") Happy New Year to everyone and enjoy lesson 1 Barbara |
