Gregg County Historical Museum - Upcoming Event
Fellow aviators: As some of you know, I am a volunteer with the Gregg County Historical Museum and have provided drone imagery and other photo services to the museum for the last several years. In my former business travels all over the western USA, 48 weeks a year for many years, I enjoyed visiting local museums in many communities in my territory, which was everything west of the Mississippi River. Our museum ranks at the very top as far as exhibits, etc. and is something we have in our city and county that we can certainly be proud of. I know that several members are indeed current and/or former military and/or civilian pilots, crew members and support personnel in a former life and may have some interest in the current exhibits and aviation activities, so I wanted to pass this along at the request of the museum staff. Since all of us have interests in aviation, I wanted to forward this information about an upcoming event at the Gregg County Historical Museum that many of you may enjoy. (This fundraising effort goes right along with this past weekend's balloon festival and National Competition hosted by the City of Longview.) Soar Above the Rest Lunch with a pilot! June 22, 11am-2pm, $15 per ticket Have lunch with an airplane, helicopter, hot air balloon and drone pilot to ask all the questions and hear fascinating stories from all their experiences! Propeller Balancing 5
A couple of years ago someone attending a chapter meeting mentioned that they do dynamic prop balancing. Does anyone know who that was? Or have a recommendation of a shop that does it? FYI, the shop at Marshall does not do it.

Reminder: Third Thursday Chapter Meeting this week...
Fellow aviators, Just a quick reminder of our Third Thursday chapter meeting this week at 1900. We need someone to step forward to take the yoke and serve as our chapter president; Ronnie has had to step away from the position due to business and family responsibilities. If you recall he did take the position last year with the caution that he was extremely busy even then and may not be able to serve for very long. He will continue to be our YE Coordinator, thank goodness! See you Thursday evening at 1900! Jim Quinn Chapter Secretary 903.746.0342

We need a chapter president.....
Fellow aviators, As I'd mentioned in the minutes from our last meeting, Ronnie Godfrey has stepped down from the position of Chapter President effective that evening. He'll continue to be the coordinator for the Young Eagles events (Thank goodness!) however his family and business obligations are first on the list as they should be and time for being our chapter leader just isn't easily available. You may recall that when we "encouraged" him to step up to that plate he did say that he was already too busy but he took the position with the warning that he may have a short term. I want to thank Ronnie for being there for us! Now we need someone else to step up, so please either volunteer or suggest someone for the position. "Voluntold" isn't the thing we want! Hah! New guys? Sure! Do it! We're a friendly bunch and can help you get going. Thanks! See you all for our regular chapter meeting on the third Thursdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the FBO!
