A 1/2" shank is about as big as you need on smaller mills. You may be able to use a 5/8 endmill with a 1/2" shank. I have a couple in my stash, but not sure the smaller mills can drive them adequately.?

I???? bought a set of MT2 Weldon shankendmills from All
Industrial tool a few years back . I think it was a 5 or 8 piece
set . WHen? traded that mill & holders for a nice Mig welder a
couple weeks ago I had only used the 3/8 & 1/2 holders in 5
years . I don't think I would buy anything larger that 3/4 for
these mills & that may be pushing the machine too far . I
found like may users that ya lost some real-estate when using the
end mill holders over using collet's . Being on the conserve my
energy club I was not a huge fan of? raising & lowering the
head a bunch so I pretty much stick with the collets .

You can use MT2 collets as tool holders. LMS only
has them with a 3/8-16 thread but you should be abke
to find them with the M10-1.5 thread on Amazon or
ebay. Amazon has an MT2 to ER25 collet holder with
metric threads, too. And you could make a 3/8-16
drawbar, too, if you can't find metric threaded MT2
collets.?
You can probably find MT2 endmill holders for
Weldon-shank endmills. I got a few years ago for an
Atlas mill. Or you can get MT2 blanks that you can
make into endmill holders.?
Good luck, and have fun!

Bruce,
Little Machine Shop should have everything you
could possibly need.
It is like a bigger mill,
unscrewed the draw bar a little
and hit it with a piece of
aluminum and hammer. It came
loose. It is a #2 Morse with a
threaded hole of 10X1.5 MM. the
other end had a chuck on it at one
time. The mill is an older Harbor
Fright model. I got it at an
estate sale for $125 and came with
two chucks with it. I can take one
of them off and put on the shank.
Now to find threaded shanks for
end mills.
