Hi Joe,
?? This is off the top of my head but..... Thomas Daniel married Elizabeth Stith in Louisa County, VA (?) before 1770. They moved to Caroline County, Va in the 1770s where Thomas sued the estate of his father-in-law for several years. I think the father-in-law died in Louisa (?). I think this is a Middlesex County, VA Daniel line, maybe from James, the non-biological son of William of Middlesex. I'm certain this is a well documented line.
??? Thomas and Elizabeth Stith Daniel moved to Kentucky in the 1790s, Jefferson County, I think. Their son Stith appears in the early 1790s tax lists in that county. I believe that both Thomas and Elizabeth died in the 1790s, maybe in Kentucky, so the Thomas Daniel Sr. in later records was their son who had a son named Thomas. There is a court record in Jefferson or Shelby that mentions their deaths but I don't think there is a probate there...
??? Here it gets a bit tricky as there was a Thomas Daniel from the line of William Daniel (William > William >? John > Thomas) of Caroline in the same counties, Jefferson/Shelby after 1800. I have not been able to sort them out.
??? Pretty sure the Thomas Sr. and Jr. in Shelby County, were the descendants of Thomas and Elizabeth Stith Daniel.
?? I will dig a little deeper into this when I get a chance and try to be more definitive.
Best,
Kevin
