Re: Dick Cooper Time Book - with E.B. King

I believe that WE is close to the current location of Bombardier in Plattsburg.? A variety of industries occupy the old mill property just past the railcar plant.
The Freydenburg branch is not currently in use past the new connector (c.2001?) from the Plattsburg AFB trackage.? Strange note in that the bridge over I-87 was recently raised for vehicle traffic and rehabbed but a train has yet to cross it.? Potential rail service to the Schluter Co. site near the junction with the Chateugay Branch is the likely reason.? The Salmon River bridge on the Chateugay Branch is condemned so that route would not be available if service is resumed.

WE is West End, actually the Freydenburg Falls Branch that joined the original Chateugay Branch west of Bluff Point. It ran downgrade to the Chateugay River and served the Imperial Paper Mill (Wallpaper).
