A recent study found that talk therapy is becoming more popular among American adults, while the use of psychiatric medication without therapy is declining. ? ?This trend is the opposite of a previous period, in the 1980s and 1990s, when medication began being widely used as a sole treatment. ¡°We¡¯re seeing that during this time, this increase represents a period where psychotherapy is assuming a more important role in outpatient mental health care,¡± Dr. Mark Olfson, the study¡¯s lead author, told NPR. ? With only 35 minutes, they must craft their own unique take on the dish. At the end of the Wellington cook-off, two chefs are safe from elimination, while the remaining three chefs battle it out one last time to join the others in the grand finale in the all-new "Always Crust Your Instincts" episode of Next Level Chef airing Thursday, May 8 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Fox. The Teams Each week professional chefs, home chefs, and social media chefs have seconds to grab, minutes to cook, and moments to deliver their dishes to mentors Gordon Ramsay, Richard Blais, and Nyesha Arrington. As last week's top chefs, Bobby and Brandon have full run of the Top Level. Brandon uses his time token to target Beatrice, taking 10 seconds away from her at the platform. Beatrice promises she'll "still kick his ass." She'll cook in the Middle Level with Austin while Megan tries to Wellington her way out of the Basement. When the platform descends to the Top Level, Brandon grabs venison loin and Bobby snags a pork tenderloin. On the Middle Level, Austin uses his 10-second head start on Beatrice to pick up a veal tenderloin. When she reaches the platform, Gordon talks her out of the lobster tail, so she grabs salmon instead. That leaves Megan with the lobster tail in the Basement. "This is going to be a tough one," says the last home chef standing. As they're cooking the most stressful dish of their lives, emotional video messages from home surprise the chefs. The "Magnificent 7" were sent on a Mission: Impossible stunt challenge in order to gain advantages in the Elimination Challenge. Read on for the elimination results, plus information on both challenges and the chef's dishes, but be warned of spoilers ahead.Who went home on Top Chef: Destination Canada tonight? For the Quickfire Challenge, the chefs were joined by guest judge Ilona Daniel from the Culinary Institute of Canada. The chefs were tasked with creating mussel dishes in just 20 minutes. The Canadian hook was that they were given mussels from Prince Edward Island, also known as "Canada's Food Island" because of their plethora of seafood, especially their world-renowned mussels. The top four were Lana, Vinny, Shuai and Tristen, with Lana being declared the winner. Her dish was an Italian mussel toast with garlic mussel juice aioli, coppa, mustard, olives and capers. She won $10,000 in the challenge. For the Elimination Challenge, the chefs were given a Mission: Impossible-themed challenge that involved them daring to do the "Edge Walk" on the CN Tower nearly 1200 feet in the air. If they completed the edge walk, they earned one advantage, and if they did the lean forward/lean back part of it, they earned a second advantage. In addition to being safe, the winner of the challenge also won $10,000. On the tower, all the chefs did the walk, but Massimo and Lana were not able to do the leaning part. The chefs who did both got 30 minutes extra cook time (so 2.5 hours total) plus $75 extra for shopping, while Lana and Massimo earned just the money and not the extra time, so they only have 2 hours. The M:I theme also forced the chefs to do a "stunt" with their food, as in try something "unusual, difficult, dramatic" that "may require a special skill." The top 3 were Bailey, Tristen and Massimo, and then Massimo was declared the winner with his Pacific trout en croute with sauce matelote (fish stew), fondue de tomatoes Louis XV and saffron emulsion. It was a play on a beef Wellington. The bottom 4 were Lana, Cesar, and Vinny, with Shuai left as the one chef neither in the top nor the bottom. Cesar was the chef sent home after serving the judges his Arctic char tartare with turmeric custard, fish tuile and romaine lettuce jam. "The fish was handled really nicely, presentation was great, but it needed some acidity to cut through that sweetness," said guest judge and Top Chef season 19 winner Buddha Lo about Cesar's dish. "I find the tuile to be somewhat burnt," said judge Tom Colicchio. "Mine's inconsistently cooked," said judge Gail Simmons. Top Chef airs Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. The Last Solo Dates episode featured farmers spending more time with the female contestants. Farmers John Sansone, Jay Woods, Matt Warren, and Colton Hendricks had deeper conversations with their remaining connections. Despite being a difficult choice, the eighth episode resulted in several ladies bidding their farewells. It includes Rissa, Juliana, Halleh, and Bailee. After a private conversation with the respective farmers, they left the show. Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3's recently released episode featured the solo dates for each of the four farmers with the female participants. They are supposed to make their choice and choose their potential wife to advance in the show. Their solo dates are to be spent at a Texas ranch. Show host Kimberly Williams-Paisley asked the farmers about their feelings before they went on their solo dates. Jay Wood shared that he was ready for some deep conversations, while Matt also confessed about moving forward in their journeys. Colton Hendricks and John Sansone shared how they have been feeling about having a potential wife in a long-term relationship that they will have in the future. As for the female participants, Juliana revealed that she felt distant from John as he hadn't given her a priority. To help her understand things better, the host told her to wait until their solo dates.John went on his first solo date, which was with Claire, where he opened up about family, work, faith, and more. Despite Claire not being a religious person, she mentioned she had an open mind. He stated that the connection that he and Claire had was quite an example of opposites attracting. Colton and Keeley went horse riding for their solo date. He felt Keeley had been quite reserved, hence he wanted to get to know her better. While he shared she would fit into his life, she also confessed about seeing her with Colton and how she has wanted to have kids in the future. She also opened up about her PCOS diagnosis. After their deep conversation, the duo shared a kiss. Jay and Rissa discussed their interests and how she enjoys traveling. It was because he had a responsibility towards his farm and the animals. Matt and Chelsie went for axe-throwing, where both wanted to have deeper conversations with each other. Later, she opened up about her past relationship and heartbreak. The duo also shared a kiss. Jay's solo date with Rissa has not been going so well because of the differences between their lifestyles. When she shared how she enjoys traveling, Jay stated that he had the farm animals to take care of. In his private confessional, Jay stated that their lifestyle and choices didn't match, so it would be better to part ways. After returning to the farm, Jay decided to focus on Grace and Karina, as he parted ways with Rissa. Juliana decided to leave the farm as she was concerned about John and how she was the one who joined the show later, which was not fair for the remaining contestants. With not enough time to know John better, she decided to part ways, which John agreed to. After both John and Jay had narrowed their choices, show host Kimberly told Matt and Colton to make their choices. It was because soon, farmers would be meeting their remaining two female participants' family members. After Matt and Halleh's private conversation, he revealed he didn't feel the connection, and she was emotional and decided to leave. Bailee wanted Colton to pursue him, but she didn't feel that happening, which, after a conversation, she decided to leave as well. The upcoming Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3 Episode 9 will feature the farmers meeting their connection's family members before making their final decision. Fans can now stream Farmer Wants a Wife Season 3 Episode 8 on Fox and witness how all four farmers' solo dates went.

Fw: New Pope Memes, part one
From: Gregory Fry Begging forgiveness from everyone--not least of all my fellow Catholics--but I just couldn't resist! Again, no one's safe when it comes to humor and the foibles we all have, none of which are intended to distract from the larger issue(s) at hand! May all fellow believers pray for a papacy that reflects the will of God for all! Enjoy!

Fw: Astronomy Picture of the Day (5/08/2025): M1: The Incredible Expanding Crab
Astronomy Picture of the Day Discover the cosmos! Each day a different image or photograph of our fascinating universe is featured, along with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer. 2025 May 8 M1: The Incredible Expanding Crab Image Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI; Jeff Hester (ASU), Allison Loll (ASU), Tea Temim (Princeton University) Explanation: Cataloged as M1, the Crab Nebula is the first on Charles Messier's famous list of things which are not comets. In fact, the Crab Nebula is now known to be a supernova remnant, an expanding cloud of debris from the death explosion of a massive star. The violent birth of the Crab was witnessed by astronomers in the year 1054. Roughly 10 light-years across, the nebula is still expanding at a rate of about 1,500 kilometers per second. You can see the expansion by comparing these sharp images from the Hubble Space Telescope and James Webb Space Telescope. The Crab's dynamic, fragmented filaments were captured in visible light by Hubble in 2005 and Webb in infrared light in 2023. This cosmic crustacean lies about 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Taurus.
