Setscrew question
开云体育This is a long time reality we have all run into: ?get a project together and there is still a left handed widget in the parts bin and nothing on the instruction or in your memory to say where it goes. ?No I know of no place such would be on a Dalton ?(I have a lot 4)

开云体育Hi Rob? You know there is still a box in the shop with some parts for your lathe.? Not sure why I never sent them.? You still want them let me know.? Oh and for you guys that don’t know about Robs lathe is one of three known early versions of a Lot 5 that we think Dalton made less than a hundred.? The three we know of all have serial numbers under 100.? Besides Rob’s serial number 62 (I think) I have serial number 32 that is really in rough condition and one more but right now I don’t remember who has it.? The early Lot 5 looks just like a Lot 6 only smaller.? I think Dalton figured it was to expensive to build so used the power feed apron on the existing Lot 4 and that was all they did. The only other difference was they went to the two piece back gear guards and changed to the two piece end door though the original Lot 6 looking Lot 5 has a Lot 4 gear door. When they changed to the power feed apron they also had to add the keyway in the lead screw to drive the worm gear. ?But other than these simple changes the Lot 5 as we know it is just an up graded Lot 4.? This all took place in about 1922 as near as we can tell by serial? numbers and patent numbers.? All Lot 5 lathes have the 1922 patent that covered the odd door hinge on the TL pattern makers lathe. Here is a picture of my early Lot 5 and you see why we were so confused about Robs when we first seen a picture of it.? Dennis ? From:

Libby via groups.io ? Good morning all. It's been a long time but I have gotten my
Dalton back together, but I have one setscrew that is on the bench by it's
self. It may be from another project but, does anyone know if there is one of
these on the dalton that I forgot.? |
