Re: Info
Thanks for the info, Dennis. Do you think mine was produced in early 1913? Back in the 70's, I made a set of bearing blocks for the driven pulley shaft, and mounted an electric motor. I made a set

Info
I bought my Dalton lathe years ago, but was interested to know how old it is. It is stamped: Lot 2- #22. I bought back in the 70's in pieces. I made some parts and got it running.

Re: New lathe
I have since learned that there is a small button on the right side of the inboard gear that disengaged it from the main shaft to allow the reduction in speed. Pull it out to disconnect it from the

Re: New lathe
What does this lever do? (Top center of image). So far, it seems to lock the machine in place by moving 2 gears onto mating gears on the main shaft.Dan

Re: New lathe
Hi Dan
Dalton hever had a manual or at least any that we have ever found. Your

New lathe
I have just obtained a Dalton Six Type B-4. I am a complete newbie to
machine work but want to learn. I am seeking information about instruction
manuals, sources of extra gears for the power feed

Re: Dalton Model "H"
Wow this is interesting. First off there is little resemblance of this
lathe to the other three prototypes we have seen. For one the other three

Re: Dalton Model "H"
The letter H is an odd designation. We don't have any record of a Model
H. There were however two or three prototype 10 1/2 inch swing lathes that
have shown up but they have no lot or serial
