Steeling your thread Bart.? Guys have talked about a good countershaft setup for a bench mount Dalton Lot 3 4 and 5.? I offer this as a top notch solution.? The Logan 400 countershaft is just what you guys need.? I have this one.? Now the shaft size for a Logan setup is ? diameter and the Dalton is 7/8 diameter.? No problem.? Press the oil light bushings out of the castings now the Dalton 7/8 shaft size fits perfectly.? You would need to find a couple of 7/8 shaft collars to secure the shaft in the casting as well as come by a usable larger pulley.? The Dalton cone pulley fits in the casting just fine.? Here are three pictures of the Logan 400 countershaft setup.? Dennis.

Subject: [DaltonLathes] An interesting video

?

I found a video of the USS Olympia’s on a ?ship machine shop. ?I do not think the lathe is Dalton, but, the Olympia was a US Cruiser from the 1890s and the machine shop is a typical line shaft shop with a beautiful shaper he runs but does not explain. ?Anyway ?thought folks might find it of interest:
