correct me if I am wrong but I recall a tale that a shipment of Daltons were on the Lusitania and that others made it across the pond for use in WWI.

What would be amazing is the company accounts that tally serial numbers to customers. I noticed quite a lot of variations in finish on the machine. I used to do quite a bit of metal casting and noted the good / not great finishes on some items and also. Looking over the photo album (page 3) I found a lot 2 with the same paint job mine used have ( pedestal stand does have) but was under the impression they were all black. The serial number of it was only ten ish away from mine (check for accuracy) maybe a batch to the same European customer? I¡¯m in WW2 airfield central here so it would have been a regular trip for transport planes. Do you know specifically what parts they were used for in the war? Any samples exist??
