HAVE YOU EVER BEEN GUILTY OF LOOKING AT OTHERS YOUR OWN AGE AND THINKING, SURELY I CAN'T LOOK THAT OLD?
WELL...YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONE.
MY NAME IS ALICE SMITH AND I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW DENTIST. I NOTICED HIS DDS DIPLOMA, WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME.
SUDDENLY, I REMEMBERED A HANDSOME, DARK-HAIRED BOY WITH THE SAME NAME HAD BEEN IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS SOME ?-30-ODD YEARS AGO.
COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON, WAY BACK THEN? UPON SEEING HIM, HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH THOUGHT.
THIS ELDERLY BALDING, GREY-HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE WAS WAY TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CLASSMATE. AFTER HE EXAMINED MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD EVER ATTENDED MORGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL .
'YES. YES, I DID. I'M A MUSTANG,' HE GLEAMED WITH PRIDE.
'WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE?' I ASKED.
HE ANSWERED, 'CLASS OF '76. WHY DO YOU ASK?'
'YOU WERE IN MY CLASS!', I EXCLAIMED.
HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY.
THEN, THAT
UGLY,
OLD,
BALD,
WRINKLED,
FAT
GREY-HAIRED,
DECREPIT, * ASKED:
'WHAT DID YOU TEACH?

Hi Class:
I spoke with Nancy last evening on the phone. She told me to pass the following message along to the class concerning her recent diagnosis from a recent mammogram. Although upsetting and distressing to anyone who receives something about the "C" word ( I don't even want to give any power to it's name), Nancy told me that it was caught in the very beginning stages. She has access to some very good doctors. She is going in Tuesday for another doctor appointment and probable surgery soon. She is walking in the peace of the Lord, trusting Him as she has done in some other physical crisis of the past, and is doing amazingly well emotionally. I'm sure she could still use encouragement with cards, etc. There is power in the prayer of agreement, so please pray and let's get ahold of God, continue to bombarde heaven on her behalf till we hear the desired answer to those prayers. This is very important. It's extremely hard to face something like this, especially when you are alone and single. This, I know, first hand. Cookie had her new address in the email she sent. Thanks Cookie!
Thank you, Linda F. Freeland

Misery loves company, I guess.
Anyways, as I was pondering my dislike and fear of clowns, I had this

I recalled a trip to San Fransicko several years ago and there were all of those goofy mimes all over the place. Mimes and all of their silly faces and gloved hands are really sicko. I never get within a few feet of them. Pretty scary stuff. And none of them talk either.

Good morning Pat,
Boy, the reunion was an expensive one for us - we purchased a home in the Wooster area.? Closed on it July 24th and we are busy packing and transfering our belongings from NY to Ohio.? We are listing our home in NY today - hopefully there will be a quick sale.? Should be on the ground there permanently around the middle of October (or sooner).? will send an updated address and e-mail when we have one - until then, the address in the yearbook we received from the reunion is good.
Thanks for the info on Shirley - will definately get a card out to her.

This being a group, I am wondering who else in our group has coulrophobia. I can trace my problem back to my early years when
people showed up for events (mainly around halloween time) in disguise.
Being a somewhat mellow lad, I did not show my disgust with those who pretended to be someone other than who they truly were.
Now I fear that even my grandchildren may have this malady.
It apparently is some kind of genetic thing.
Do any of you know of a cure for coulrophobia?
And I don't want to pay a shrink to deal with it.

Only today am I getting this video to you. I really enjoyed your performance at the DHS reunion. I know you bring happiness and joy to many and I pray that God will continue to give you what you need to continue. Otis and I went to Paraguay last week for the Mennonite World Conference. There were 6000 from 61 different countries. Lots of indigenous people, Africans, etc. There were choirs from Canada, Switzerland, Zimbabwe, Congo and a 140 voice choir from Paraguay. Of course wonderful speakers and workshops. It was cold¡ª40s to 60s. I hope you can download the video and hear yourself. I also have a good picture I¡¯ll send in another email.

How about Bandy the Rodeo Clown by Moe Bandy?
Or how about Cathy's Clown by the Beverly Brothers?
Or maybe The Coasters Charlie Brown (He's a clown, that Charlie Brown)?
Perhaps Clarabel the Clown on Howdy Doody?
Or Goodbye Cruel World, I'm Off to Join the Circus, Gonna Be a Broken Hearted Clown (James Darren)?

Maybe I should try listening non-stop to Send in the Clowns sung by Judy Collins (1975). That actually was an ok song in spite of the title. I'm not sure I could listen to that non-stop though.
Speaking of phobias, check out the guy who has a fear of peaches on youtube.com. There is also a woman who sobs for about 4 minutes who is afraid of clowns on youtube.com. It's pretty scary actually to see someone lose it over stupid clowns.
I'll tell you what is scary is to take a tour in Cascade Caverns (down the road apiece from me) and let them turn out all the lights briefly. Total darkness. That really does freak me out. Also being crammed into a tour bus in Jamaica gives me a claustrophic feeling. And that is not a good feeling.

Here's another phobia. Fearing being found dead in a snowbank after shoveling snow after the snow plow has come through and plowed your driveway shut after you had just cleared it previously. The only good thing about snow is it is a good place to keep your beer cold while you are shoveling snow prior to your demise.
Guess that's why I moved to Texas from the frozen tundra in Wisconsin almost 31 years ago.
Now I have droughtophobia (fear of drought) thanks to the 23 consecutive months of lowest rainfall in San Antonio history. That after getting 56 inches of rain in 2007.

You know what? I actually did think of that shortly before I sent the first e-mail. Hope I don't offend anyone who still thinks that the hope and change is working swell.
Just plain normal me,
John

? To anyone who cares. I have recently been diagnosed with a severe case of coulrophobia. Although not common, it does seem to affect several people within select groups.
This being a group, I am wondering who else in our group has coulrophobia. I can trace my problem back to my early years when people showed up for events (mainly around halloween time) in disguise.
Hoping you have a relatively mundane day,
Johnnie
