Nickname genealogy:
Researched today.
From my memory (which may not always be intact anymore), here are my
recollections of nicknames for several of our class members:
Weasel (me): On one of the back roads around Dalton (of which there are
many), I spotted some kind of varmint in front of the car. I don't
recall who was driving. Anyways, this beast darted in front of our
speeding car (Ford, Chevy or some Mopar car) and I thought it was a
weasel. Everyone laughed and hence the name--Weasel.
Schminck (John Hare): I'm not sure about this name but I suspect it is
in tandem with me being called Weasel. I think he was then called Mink
which somehow got twisted into Schminck. This is just a guess.
Cash (Jerry Amstutz): He always enjoyed playing cards and seemed to
always win and then he got the name Cash. Another guess.
Hebe (Herb Eberly): This must have been a variation of his first and
last name.
Friction (Keith Goudy): Can't figure this one out.
Shook Up (Don Johnson): Sometimes got shook up--hence the name.
Lammy(Lanny Royer): A derivative of Lanny.
Cat (Harold Saurer): Cat like quickness.
Lymmie (Lynn Weikert): A derivative of Lynn.
If anyone else had nicknames, I don't remember them. If the stuff above
is wrong, who cares?
It makes good conversation. Any error corrections would be appreciated.

Welcome to the group Weasel (and just where did that name come from?)
I am
trying to remember some other nicknames...was there Slink and Cash and
Friction? I am sure many others so if any one can add to and tell how
the
names came about that would be fun and interesting. Thanks for adding
your
opinion regarding the timing on the reunion, that is a good point!
Hope
that it will be read by the right people.
Check out the data base link at the left of the yahoo page click on it
and
then click on group contacts to see all of the classmates email and
etc that
I have up to date.
Oh and PS now that I have your attention: Does anyone know where to
find
Norman Yoder. He is the only one I have no info on.

Subject: [dalton59] no longer a yahoo virgin
Although I am an MSN user, I have now mastered the yahoo signup
routine
(I think). Why does this message show 7:34 pm when it is only 2:34 pm
CST? What time zone is yahoo on? Must be the twilight zone. Another
computer mystery for me.
So what's the scoop for the big 50 next year? For those of us outside
the Dalton metro area, I think some of us may have some conflicts with
the dates suggested (due to grandchildren high school graduations at
the same time as the reunion).
I went back to Dalton last week for a few days and saw only one
classmate (John Hare). I don't know if he is part of the yahoo group
but he did give me his e-mail address. Let me know if you want to
contact him by e-mail.
Since I live in Texas where we get either drought or floods, I was
impressed by how green Ohio is in May. I have only mowed my lawn once
because of our drought, but the Ohio lawn freaks seem to mow their
lawns every other day because of the rain and good soil. Our soil is
mostly rocks and caliche so real grass is nonexistent. I used to be
meticulous about our lawn when we lived in Ohio or the frozen tundra
in
Wisconsin (where we lived for 9 long years).
That's all my humdrum news for the day.
Glad to be part of the group now. Keep me posted.
