Just completed a five day visit to the Orrville/Wooster/Dalton area.
Most of the time spent with my dad and stepmonther who live at
OrrVilla in Orrville. We visited a number of local attractions
including Lehman's Hardware - Jay Lehman bought that business from my
grandfather A.B. Sommer who built the original store in 1916.
Also had my ice cream fix at the Dairyette.
And had to get some Troyers Trail Balogna and swiss cheese.
Attended the Rotary meeting that was held at the Methodist Chucrh -
the same place it has been meeting for over 50 years.
In case any of you are planning on being here in your RV, we are
camping at Meadow Lake Park north of Wooster. Very nice and quiet
place. Has electric and water but no sewer hookups. It is about 20
miles to Dalton from the campgroung. Price is $25 per night. There
is also another campground in Mt. Eaton that is very nice but very
pricy at $44 per night. Last year we stayed at Caskey's which is
north of Dalton north of Burton City. Not bad but like the Meadow
Lake one better.
Weasel, as for the Monarchs, I believe they all migrate to one place
in Mexico for the winter.
Also glad to see you getting involved in the environment. Since we
have lots of oaks in our area around Austin, hug a few of them for us
while we are gone on this trip.
To those that have been corresponding through this media, thank you.
Just to let you know that I haven't done much writing but have read
eveyone of the emails and they are very interesting. Sure helps
conjure up lots of memories.
