I spelled you're as your'e below. Now I know why I should use spell

Serves me right.

Holy Cow! I think you're right. I kinda remember Victor Gerber
using the Judas Priest! phrase, too. I think Victor was a legend
in
Dalton. I remember I had a pet canary that we named "Victor" in
tribute to Victor Gerber. Anybody else name their pet "Victor"?
I guess we named the canary "Victor" because, as you well know,
canaries sing. I think Victor Gerber came to our house to tune our
piano, too. Not that it made much difference to me, though,
because
I can't play the piano now. Seven years of lessons down the tube.
Some people have talent, and some people don't. You can't train
someone with no talent; I'm living proof. Your'e either born with
talent or without talent. Just like spelling. You can either
spell
or not spell. You can't be taught spelling if you don't have a
knack
for spelling. Remember all those spelling tests we had in school?
Did we have spelling bees back then? If we did, I don't remember
winning any of the spelling bees. I used to be able to spell
really
good back in my younger days. Now, not so perfect. The older I
get
the better I used to be. This is a great expression and it fits
almost anything I can think of. For you music appreciation types,
Larry Joe Taylor sings a song "The Older I Get, The Better I Used
To
Be". I really enjoy listening to music, but I'm not able to
generate
music. To those of you who have a knack to make music, you should
really appreciate the talents that you have.
Just rambling on...

Well I don't know if it is the phrase that you are looking for
but
one of my most
?frightening moments In chorus was when I saw him jump up and
down
turn red
In the face because we would not?listen?and be quiet and he said
"Judas Priest" and I about crawled under my chair as I was sure
it
was a?really?
terrible swear word!? ?pjlee

Hi All,
I have a question:???? what did Vic Gerber say when he was
frustrated with a sour note (either in band or chorus)???? He would
say a phrase as he wildly raked his hands through his hair and
paced.??? What was that phrase???? Last year at Glenn's 50th, Don
Adams (who married Priscilla "Pootsie" Gerber, Vic's daughter) said
the phrase and now I can't remember it.??? Anyone remember it??????

Patricia,
?
First let me thank you for getting this thing together.? Do not
get
discourged, keep up the good work.? Even tho I may not participate
as
many?as the ?others do, eg weasel, I read all the messages and
enjoy
them.
?
We attended the Methodist church, caty corner from the
Presbyterian
church.? I remember a couple of things.? I remember Mr. Thomas
after
the services standing out front smoking his cigarette and just
talking to me about things, a dumb kid and he took the time to jaw
with me.? I remember one Sunday rev. Price had invited an
evangelist
to the service and after he preached he asked all those in the
congregation (who were praying with eyes closed) who wanted to be
saved to stand up.? I guess I was so inspired, (why??I never
listened
to the sermons anyway), I stood up and I stood there I peeked
around
and saw that no one else stood up.? A very embarassing moment as he
asked who all stood up to come forward, and of course I did not.
?
Does anyone remember or participated in the Youth for Christ at
the
Methodist church?? Keep it up because memories are coming back.
?
Waiting?? Is life about waiting?? In school I waited for it to
end.? I waited for the school year to be over and for summer to
come.? In the army I "hurried up and wait".? In my life occupation
I
waited and watched.? Now, I find myself in the doctors office
waiting
for tests, opinions, diagnosis, referrals.? OLD AGE IS NOT FOR
SISSIES!?

Sure is a cute bunch of kids but i can hardly see it let alone
guess
who anyone is. Perhaps we can blow it up for us with older eyes.
anyhow i have just been thinking about the two churches and who
went
to which ones. it seems that the more affluent people went to the
presbyterian and the more middle class went to the methodist. or
is
that just a case of too much thinking? i remember that the les
mosers went to the ME and the weisgarbers and the douglas's and
the
goudy's went to the PRES. oh yes and the I Glen Berg's went to
the
ME
as Alberta played the organ. lets take a poll........ ...where
did
you go to church as a child? or where did your family drag you?
we
went to the ME and i have lots of great memories of revivals and
church camp and youth fellowship and church dinners. One of my
memories of going to church was that my dad would escort me up
the
street to church and then toss out his cigar as we got closer. He
would then turn around and walk back home as I crossed the
street.
Also who remembers the OX ROAST? and the street carnivals? and
the
sock hops on the school black top where all the girls had to
dance
together. the DJ's came from wooster or massillon and played all
the
great tunes from the 50's. We were a lucky bunch of kids growing
up
in a great era...we just did not realize it! Just love looking at
the pictures of the guys at Brownies that Corrine posted......
Keep
the memories coming~ ~pjlee~

isn't you!

I have been reading all the messages and loving it. Have been
busy
so
haven't created a bio yet and will post more pictures later.
Will
also
review and answer some of the questions that are being posted.
I posted a picture of the Dalton Presbyterian Choir. Don't know
the
year but maybe mid-1940's. Have fun seeing how many you can
identify.
I can only get a handful.
