Every time I hear of miners getting killed (as in West Virginia), I think of my Grandpa (Robert) Douglas.??? He, too, was killed in a mine just south of Dalton in 1930.???? My mother was only 11 at the time.??? The mine was located at what now is Jerry Berg's (class of 1958) farm.??? The mine caught fire and three miners died, not from fire, but lack of oxygen.??? My Uncle Earl Sword's father died in that mine, too, so my Uncle & Aunt Leona (a?sister of my mother's) had to endure two deaths..........????
