Re: First car you drove (probably known as your best car ever)

Lanny and Judy Royer

My first car was a 1949 Olds.? Of course I had to make it cool by putting large rocks in the trunk to lower it and put on fender skirts.? I worked for my dad on weekends, holidays, and summers, made good money and in my senior year bought a white 54 Corvette, remember?? I use to go out on the country roads and race Gary Close, who had some kind of foreign sports car.?

?

I remember on one occasion borrowing my dads new 1957 Ford.? One day me and 4 other guys were coming into Dalton by the main road north (?) lickety split.? I shot over a hill and coming our of a lane was a farmer taking up the road, no way to miss.? Just before the crash, Cash hollered, "hit him hes in the wrong".? About drove him into Dalton.? Can't remember who the other 2 in my car were, do you?

Thank God the only injury was a sprained wrist on Cash.?

What was the first car you drove (other than your parents' old DeSoto)?

Mine was a 48 Plymouth Coupe' pea green color. A real Bondo special
inherited from my brother. I think he just wanted to dump it so he
could get his dream car, a 1954 (I think) Plymouth Belvedere
convertible with a continental tire kit, robin egg blue color, which he
still has by the way; it's always garaged and only goes outside on
clear sunny days with a -300% chance of rain.

Anyways, I think that's where I got it. It lasted several years until
I dumped it on some unfortunate soul. Hope it wasn't one of your
relatives. Then I got a 52 Ford Victoria from a Dalton local (it was
probably his first dream car, too.)

The Plymouth was probably my favorite car (I guess because it was my
first car).

What was your first car and what are your memories of it? Good or bad.
