I have not seen that specific question raised, but I am guessing you would be right, as encrypted messages are illegal to hams in the US. I would assume the software configuration would not decode

You are correct.

If the node is in HAM mode, will it still forward the encrypted packets? Docs show encryption is turned off when you select licensed operator.

The meshmap.net shows a couple out in Rowlett that are sending status to MQTT. Not sure of any others... we're just getting started. 73 Rich N5CSU
