DM/ OOC- re: moving forward in the campaign

Ok gang. We¡¯re currently at:

Tabby, female, Tabaxi monk
Ashley, male, Human, cleric
North, male, Gnome, wizard
Sweet William, male, Half-Orc, barbarian

Bre¡¯tah, female, Orc, ranger NPC

There is a manticore high in the trees up above the Blue Moss Orc village.

Sweet William has posted his action. Once the others have posted I¡¯ll follow up there.

Is everyone ready to continue?

/DM

I'll post today!

Just going to throw it out there, and feel free to disagree, but it would be an interesting character development opportunity for those of us who are here, if perhaps our dearly departed group members did not survive this Manticore fight... instead of just disappearing... ? of course this is just 2 cents and open to Tabby/SW/DM to tune in on.

Actually John, our five characters are currently setting up shop on a different group, so if you could please spare us the continuity problems (and the indignity) of making our characters die in this one after we already withdrew them, it would be appreciated.? (I think the more strongly worded way to put it though might be, we would take offense if you did kill them off - they are not yours, and it would be petty.? Being treated to indignity like this is a big part of why we ended up leaving in the first?place.)

Yeah, Esther we got your messages. Moving forward now though I would appreciate it if you let us play the campaign that we are all still playing in.
Truly sorry to see all of you go, but all the best - hugs.

I did post....Ashley needs the wounded together...Hopefully, they can move them into the longhouse so he could use his 'Channel Divinity' ability.

Also, Tabby was waiting for everyone to wake up before she sought out the beast as seriously. Manitores have...Two claw attacks...A bite attack and that tail? She wouldn't last two seconds against that. Thankfully she has her crossbow, which I always seem to forget she has. ?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Esther,

I really think you¡¯re making too big a deal of this. It¡¯s not real. It¡¯s make-believe. It¡¯s a game. These are made up characters, not real people. They can¡¯t really die. If I kill off a character named Raina or Anrah, that just means the character is dead in my universe. You can still play the character in any other universe you want. It¡¯s game. If I kill them, you just say it didn¡¯t happen and it didn¡¯t happen to your character in whatever world you play. My character ¡°Deacon¡± has died countless times. I just say someone resurrected him, or it never happened, or it was a different timeline or different universe or a dream or whatever. I don¡¯t care what anyone else thinks. My character gets to continue to play somewhere because I want to keep playing him. It¡¯s game. It¡¯s suppressed to be fun, not stressful.

It¡¯s just pretend. Let it go.

/Infinitum3D

How is him talking about killing my character?that I am emotionally invested in none of my business?

Please do not stand for this.

Loved that post Tabby! That really helped me put my head back in the game. Where are our traveling companions!?! They should be showing up any moment now... Unless... Unless they were EATEN ALREADY!?!?

Thanks!

Poor Tabby's little heart is going to be crushed once she finds out they had abandoned her!

She likes North, William, and Ashley, but she still is going to miss the others. Especially Anrah! Imagine if someone gave you an adorable puppy and when you woke up the next day, she was gone!??

They will also wonder if they need to go to Myth Drannor...Tabby needed to go -near- the old city, and Ashley didn't need to go there...Did North need to head to the old city?

DM/ OOC- re: House Rules

I just wanted to be clear about something, I'm really glad you aren't rushing off to fight a dragon at level 4. You can if you want, but you'd likely all die. I don't write "Level Appropriate" encounters. I don't run the game like a video game where each level prepares you for the next quest. The world exists, and sometimes a group of level 2 PCs will wander into a Beholder's base, a Lich's lair, or a dragon's den. Running away is always an option. It's up the the party to decide when they fight and when they flee. Sometimes it's the opposite; a group of level 18 PCs will run into a goblin scouting party, or a dozen kobolds, or a single troll.

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug.

I just don't want you to feel unprepared. Good luck!

They will also wonder if they need to go to Myth Drannor...Tabby needed to go -near- the old city, and Ashley didn't need to go there...Did North need to head to the old city?

Loved that post Tabby! That really helped me put my head back in the game. Where are our traveling companions!?! They should be showing up any moment now... Unless... Unless they were EATEN ALREADY!?!?

Good to know. Thanks!

Good luck!

? By all means, definitely share that with us before we end the day. The more info we share, the better off we¡¯ll be.

I'm working on a post where I explain what I know about the blue dragon. It can be posted when ever I guess but I was trying to get it out for when they're "around the campfire"

Sorry I mixed IC and OOC on that last post. It¡¯s taking me a while to get used to having them on 2 separate threads.
