Sweet William pulls the Goliath mail out of the crate and holds it one handed at arm¡¯s length straight out from his body as steady as if it were part of a statue.
¡°Little light,¡± he says.
When the crippled old crook tells him 40 gp, he drops it back in the crate with a thunk that bounces nearby items on their shelves.
He looms over the merchant uncomfortably close and then slowly lowers his glowering, fanged, almost painfully ugly face until they are eye to eye. He lets a little crazy creep into is malevolent, bloodshot glare.
¡°Big and ugly don¡¯t mean stupid,¡± he growls. ¡°I¡¯d think you were trying to cheat me, but I¡¯m guessing you ain¡¯t that dumb. Forty gold for a lump of lead on a stick? Bet you can count on one hand, the people could wield that.I¡¯ll give you 10 and you should count yerself lucky I¡¯m feeling generous.¡±

OOC: how many attacks per round would he get with the maul?
Good question.
Your current axe also has the Swiftness enchantment.
Swiftness- as a Bonus Action, you may make one?additional?Attack
with this weapon.
When Sweet William uses?Frenzy, he normally gets?one?Attack
Roll as a Bonus Action, and suffers a level of exhaustion.?Swiftness?would mean?Frenzy?gets
a?second?Attack Roll.?Or?you
can avoid?Frenzy?and it¡¯s exhaustion and use the?one?Bonus
Action from Swiftness as an Attack Roll instead.?
At level 5 Sweet William got the class feature Extra Attack.
And at level 3 Barbarians get Frenzy which allows an Attack as a bonus action.
So with your Axe of Swiftness, you get?
EITHER
Attack (one) and Extra Attack (two) as your Action, then Frenzy for a Bonus Action (three) and use Swiftness for a second Bonus Action (four) for four Attack Rolls with a Level of Exhaustion from Frenzy,?
OR?
Attack (one) and Extra Attack (two) as your Action, then use Swiftness for a Bonus Action (three) for three Attack Rolls
without suffering exhaustion.?
With the Goliath Maul, you get
Attack (one) and Extra Attack (two) as your Action, then Frenzy for a bonus Action (three) with a Level of Exhaustion from Frenzy.
