¡°But the balance is maintained,¡± the black states firmly.
¡°For now,¡± the green adds coyly.
Sweet William moves in protectively close to Tabby.
Brother Ashley groans softly, trying to make some semblance of sense out of all these new words and comments, and the Druids seem to sense his despair.
¡°The Otomi, or Dog People as you say, were once quite aggressive and oft sacrificed strangers to the gods,¡± the green explains. ¡°But in recent years-¡°
¡°With guidance,¡± the black interrupts.

¡°The Spear of Necalli,¡± the green warns. ¡°This is the source of the swamp naga incarnation.¡±
¡°So, wait,¡± Brother Ashley says raising a hand. ¡°Let me get this straight. You two are Druids working to maintain the balance of good and evil, but by helping the Dog people you created a swamp naga? Who is the Khen¨½do M?hra and what does the
Spear of Necalli have to do with the missing leonin?¡±
¡°The Khen¨½do M?hra is the holiest ranking Monk of the House of the Great Mother,¡± the black explains. ¡°The spear was stolen from the monastery. She uses the leonin to search for it.¡±
Brother Ashley rubs his temples. ¡°Then there is no connection between the swamp naga and the missing leonin,¡± he says, struggling to comprehend it all.

¡°-Onotlatlatzan,¡± the black confirms.
¡°-Onotlatlatzan,¡± the green acknowledges, ¡°is a powerful artifact. Sentient and bombastic.¡±
¡°But balanced,¡± the black explains. ¡°If returned, the naga will cease to be.¡±
Brother Ashley sighs and shrugs to Flynn.
