1. Preheat your oven to 350¡ãF (175¡ãC). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the M&Ms and chocolate chips, if using.
6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Press a few extra
